Frustrating that it's a WIP. Not enough Dramione. A good start, it could go somewhere

I...don't know. I sort of like this Hermione, but I'm having a very hard time sympathizing with her. I want to like her because her situation is familiar, but she handles things so drastically different than I would/did. My child's twin DID miscarry at nine weeks, and my doctor didn't look sadly (I have never known one to do that, to gaze sadly at a patient. They have to stay professional at all times.) Losing a twin being a single mom didn't make me sad, it made me less and more stressed. I felt guilt at the relief, sadness that it didn't have a chance, worry about what would happen in the future to both me and the other fetus...

Her mother?! How did a volatile, pregnant woman under horrific stress tolerate someone telling her that she's always going to wonder about the twin and then go into details about it? I would have gone off on ANYONE who did that to me, especially my mom who should have known better. That was a callous, insensitive thing to say.

Hermione said that she would have the baby alone. Does she have a job? Who will watch the baby? Is she going to dump on her parents (dear god, don't let her do that! it would be revolting!)? Can she deal with her mother vomiting callous opinions to her when she has a parenting issue? Why didn't she just get an apartment of her own- she has access to Malfoy funds (and has a right to the pittance that a mere flat would cost)? I thought that initially hiding from him was childish, but I liked that she finally did the grown-up thing and spoke to him and told him her plans.

I do question her love for him. She flew off the handle for being neglected for a mere three weeks. Military wives would smack her around and tell her to grow up. She didn't try to listen to his side of the story at all, even to give him the courtesy of one last try before cutting off (the man she supposedly loves) for the rest of her life. He was being shady- breaking promises. That does not bode well for the rebuilding of trust, so if her love had died in a matter of three weeks, I wonder if he was worth loving to begin with.

I will tune in to see if Hermione and Draco become grown-ups, if she miscarries, if they work it out (because this is the Dramione board) and if Draco was set-up and by whom.

Love the story so far. There is no way that after essentially ditching her for nearly a month to have an affair, and actually leaving her to be "affectionate" with the other woman in public, that Hermione would ever trust Draco again. And she is definitely not the type to "stay because of the kids." So we can only hope that there is going to be a big surprise.
