Bit of a ccatch 22 that one. If he wants control he's got to treat them as part of his body but on the other hand, if they're part of his body it's going to be hard ... and quite possibly painful to be rid of them. (a point rather hammered home but foolishly yanking his feathers.)
It surprised me that Ron was willing to ssend him home iwth Malfoy but I suppose he was willing to take what he could get.
I can't wait to see what happens next. I would think the potions makers and healers will be thrilled to have a source of tears/ feathers etc on hand. Is this the extent of the alteration or will more be coming later? Cause so far who ever mentioned was right, wings and teaars do not a phoenix make. i think he'd be a sort of 1/4 blood kind of thing.

i don't know if this is what you have in mind but to me i get the feeling that the reason harry can't controle the wings is because they respond on instinct. so how close am I? =^_^=

Hmm...this isn't exactly a creature fiction, is it? Just
Harry suffering another misfortune?

Are Harry's wings from a particular type of phoenix?
Because I think you can make up your own type of phoenix,
it wouldn't be the first time that's been done.

Oh, and nice touch with the Parseltongue in that scene, it
added something extra to what Harry is...whatever the heck
that might be.

Interesting so far, look forward to the next chappie :).
