I thought the scene in the Forest of Dean was really gripping. You built the tension nicely, and I was somewhat surprised at how forthcoming Harry was in his bitter wisecracks about what Snape had done. He deliberately revealed to Ron and Hermione what had happened between him and Snape in the guise of his telling off, so that when he finally mentioned how Snape had used the threat against Hermione to control him, I knew that Ron was going to lose it. Pretty brilliant move on Harry's part, I'd say. It's like he's got his own guard with his two best friends as his soldiers.
Snape's reactions were just what I'd expect; you did a great job of letting us see the ongoing struggle of the man, and yet still managing to elicit some sympathy from the reader for Snape's plight. After the horrific story Harry just told them all about what Voldemort did to Lucius, it would seem that Snape's days are numbered. I shuddered at the images you created.
The fact that Snape tipped his hand early with his memories, however....very curious to see how that plays out and how it will change the dynamics of their continued hunt. After all that Harry has been through, after the attempt on his own life....how will he deal with the knowledge that he was meant for sacrifice all along? And how are Hermione and Ron going to handle the fallout?
I really loved the whisperings in the dark between Harry and Hermione. You have me dying to know just what she thought of Harry's morning rutting, and it was sort of a tease having the chapter in her pov and then not giving us her thoughts on the matter, but I like the way she avoided having to answer him. She's obviously very confused about that part of their recovery.
And Harry pushing himself in order to fight, insisting that he's fine no matter what---that's just classic Harry. He's like the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. 'Tis just a flesh wound!' Lol, I love him. But I hope he can get back on his feet soon. I wonder when Hermione will start to put pieces together again and lead them on the hunt. With Harry still so weak, he's really going to need her to see their way ahead. I hope she's up to the task.
Oh, and one more thing...Ron protecting them *both* is just so much big love I almost can't stand it. J'adore.

Yayyyyyy you updated!!! I was so excited to see that, lol. I keep your story up in a tab in my browser just so I can check and see if it's been updated XD.
I love the way you write! So engaging! And I can't wait to see how things are going to go with Harry, and how the dynamics are going to continue evolving within the Trio. :D

Love that Harry has had enough, and is making both Ron and Hermione see they truly aren't helping him, no matter how good their intentions.
As for the Ginny issue, I wish he'd not push her away.

Well, that was pretty intense. It didn't really feel short, at all, there was so much happening between the three of them.
I have to be honest, Greycie, I had a hard time with the last chapter and really didn't know what to say about it. I was probably as pissed off at Hermione and Ron as Harry. It was tough knowing how he felt about the numbness and then having to suffer through him being dosed with the potion. Even Ron's aggressive sexuality had me wondering where his head was at, what he was so frightened of that it would cause him to make some questionable judgments in the context of the circumstances. But to be able to feel Harry's anger so acutely in this chapter was almost cathartic. It also highlighted the inevitable difficulties that would arise in their relationship after being underfoot for so long.
His thoughts about Lucius' knife infecting him as a Dementor are so heartbreaking, he's so on the edge of his sanity. Although I agree with some of what he said to Hermione and Ron at the party, it was still harsh and sad to see how his rage is in danger of tearing them apart. But that's exactly what Bella and company meant to do, and I hope Harry comes to realize that soon. But with his returning strength, his fury was bound to come along with it and unfortunately, Ron and Hermione are the ones there to take the brunt of it.
As for his morning wood getting cozy with Hermione's bum, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I was worried the onset would be the result of a sexed up nightmare and who knows where something like that would lead.
I can understand why he would be determined to meet with Snape, too, even though his feelings are murderous. It was satisfying to read him getting focused on something outside of his head and outside of Grimmauld for a change. In a strange way, it's just the kind of rope he needs to pull him forward.
Looking forward to the meet up in the Forest of Dean.
