It's so simple and yet so intricate like a beautifully haunting Grimm's fairytale but it's all you and I love it. It simply took my breath away.

oh god oh god...that was like floating through a dream, or drinking a golden drink...intoxicating, beautiful, and impossible...part of me wishes there was a smut scene to it, because this IS aff.net, but then again somehow a sex scene would've destroyed the icy cold purity and danger and enticement of this fanfic...beautiful.

Now you've made me curious what the legends about hawthorne are.

Wow, I expected a more amicable ending for everyone, but the way Draco took Harry using the promises, so cold-blooded...not that there's anything wrong with that, otherwise I wouldn't be reading Drarrys. LOL.

Wow, a semi dark story but most definitely gripping. Beautifully crafted ending. Love love loved it.

Oh wow very ballsy of Draco to collect like that, especially with Ginny and Lily and all. but wow Harry you should know better than to not research ANYTHING when it concerns a BOND you are making. Hermione would be so ashamed of you.

This was a really cool read, I am curious as to what hawthorn myth you are refering to though, I admit I am very interested and not having much luck finding a mention.

Ok, here it comes...
Of course I read it as soon as it appeared on my screen. But after I finished it, I wanted some time to think about what I really think of it. I just can't stand reviews that aren't taken seriously...

I think this whole plot was just awesome. I already had a vage idea about what Draco wanted these promises for when he made Harry swear the very first one, and this suspicion left me for the rest of the story hoping that I may be wrong and dreading that I wasn't. And when I came to the end of your oneshot... I had tears in my eyes... And I really had this feeling of waking up after a dream, but I don't know what's it called in english ... catharsis??!

For your characters: For me they were remarkably canon in their personality. But aside from that... I think Harry was a bit too naive for someone who has seen and been through war. And Draco had a power-addiction, but that's something I can see him developing^^ What doesn't sit right with me is that Dracos obsession for Harry drove him to enslave him... I don't really think that he would do something so drastic as killing his memories, if only because that would make him a different person and Draco would never settle for something less then perfect. I also believe that he will soon be bored with this subdued Harry, because he seemed most responsive when Harry pushed him... But it's your story and perhaps you see it different. And it really irks me that, this being a oneshot, you won't be able to reply to my comment^^

All in all, this story left me with a feeling I can't really describe... in the inside I felt like screaming, crying, dying,... but the end that you gave the story was - even if it was far from perfect - a good one because it was right for the story. It couldn't have ended different.

Even now, when I think of your little piece of art, I choke up. But nevertheless I'm really glad that you shared it with us.

i really enjoyed this one. i've been reading your seasons series, but promises made on wands seems to take another track to some of the same traditions and mythology. i'm not sure what to make of the seeming inversion of hawthorn representing the renewal and freshness of spring, so much of the imagery (which is so delicately and beautifully threaded through the story) feels cold, crisp like winter frost rather than the budding green of spring. i especially liked draco's admonition that harry had the opportunity and should have considered and researched crossed wand promises as well as the significance of hawthorn because it encourages your readers to do the same. so hawthorn- may and fey, ill-will and happiness, marriage and (in)fertility, sacred and profane, bad luck and encouragement, and a powerful effect on the heart...draco speaks true when he says that hawthorn has everything to do with what he is. though his statement begs the question of whether this is what he's always been at his core or if it is what and who he developed into postwar. i floated along with this one, the lure of the promises feels a great temptation for both of them, and draco feels so ethereal that i felt swept up with the fairies as the story progressed. i have to go read it again now that i looked into more of the hawthorn symbolism, especially its association with May day. thank you very much for sharing this gem of your talent and imagination.

Um, wow. I feel really inarticulate that, that's all I can manage...but still wow. That was incredible. God I love your work so, so much.
