This is fascinating and well-written. I came in expecting something just to pass the time -out of morbid curiosity- but I was surprised by how good it was. It has the right mix of angst and mystery and tension and everything and I was so sad to bump into the last chapter and find that there was nothing else.

I hope your computer/battery charger problems get solved soon, not just because I want to read the rest of the story (I do XD), but because I can imagine what it would be like to be computer-less. The horror! D:

I still sort of want to strangle Dumbledore for forcing Harry to continue the lessons, but I can totally see him saying no. The situation Harry was forced into is unfair, but you didn't have to make everyone OOC like so many other authors so often do to be able to pull it off, and that is amazing. I do wonder a bit at Hermione and Ron's behavior, they felt sort of not there, but then I realized that that was the way they should be, since we're seeing this from Harry's POV and he's been hurt and angry and not quite there, and so he didn't pay attention to everything (like Dolores and all her madness, like you said yourself in the narration, I was wondering what role she would play in all this, BTW).

Seriously, everyone is as IC as they could get in a premise like this; Snape's reactions are exactly what I think he would do, angry, wary, sort of willing to listen to Harry because something is not right and he hates having his control and knowledge taken away from him; Dumbledore all-knowing but failing, and failing spectaculary because he's the sort of person that makes "smart" errors; McGonagall's, firm personality a little undone by all this; Madam Pomfrey trying her hardest to treat Harry the way she always do, very professional; and most importantly, Harry. His not wanting to get help out of pride and out of being burned one too many times, his desperate attempt to conserve normalcy, his lashing out at Snape and everyone, keeping his friends at a distance, his distrust of everyone; EVERYTHING. That boy is hard to write, and so it's rare to see people getting him right.

Anyway, awesome story. :)

It is an intense read, the characterization feels rather spot on, and I am most curious to know what's going on in Snapes mind and if he's even really responsible for what he did to Harry, or if he's some how being controlled by something evil.

I like that snape is very much himself, I wonder if he sees Lily in Harry and at the same time can't bear to let her go again, because of how deeply he felt for her and having Harry, well weaker than him allows him to use his strength to his advantage and "keep" her as his own in those moments of madness?? It's incredible and frightening but oddly I like this ficcy.

Hope to read more of this story. Hope to see more chapters soon. Well done in regards to Harry's discomfort and other responses.
