whoo! so glad that the second story is starting. this was a killer first chapter, and it's awesome because usually i forget some details from a previous installment, but now it feels like i've never missed a beat from one story to the next, and i think that's a result of your increasing talent and experience from all your stories. it doesn't hurt that it probably won't take as long to reread this series in succession as with your other various series; not that i'm knocking that, i love talented lengthy fics and chappies *wink wink* :).

speaking of which, do you see a marked increase in chaps as the series progresses? 1st one-3, 2nd one-9-ish, 3rd one-27ish, 4th one-81ish? lol. all joking aside, it would be a cool idea if the amount of chaps in a future story/series had a theme or resonance, like how 7 is a magically potent number in the hp books. my fave number is 3 and its multiples, but i think 81 chaps is quite an amazing feat for any author. anyways, can't wait for an update!
