I don't know if you considered this for your story but...
Couldn't all the families that had babies stolen legally charge Fudge & crew with multiple counts of Line Theft?
Especially if the child taken was a first-born male?

You Evil, EVIL author! How could you stop the chapter there? Poor Sirius just finding out that James and Lily are alive and out of the blue like that... (shaking my head) poor thing, what's he going to do next once he's face to face with Voldemort?
