I like this but I must disagree that women are the most important (I know, I know. I will be flamed for this.) Women need men just as much as they need us. We would never have children without them. I don't really understand why each sex has to try to identify itself more powerful. We are equal. We are both equally as important in the universe. We are balance. A woman may give life but cannot do so without a man. A man may have the seed to give life but cannot do so without a woman.

The author of this story isn't allowed to reply on her own board, so I will be the Metatron, or whatever that voice is supposed to be called. Of course there is a balance, an equality in nature, the yin and yang, positive and negatives that must come together as a whole. Unfortunately, this truism isn't always voiced. And in some beliefs it is taught that women are less than men. The view Snape holds concerning women in general isn't common (of course it couldn't be or how could he be so special in this story, lol.) But a woman does bring forth life, is the nurturer, is the giver and deserves to be seen as the wonderful being she is, and the miracle she performs as a natural part of who she is. How perfectly she is designed to be what she is, a lover, a mother. Snape isn't saying they aren't equals, he's saying all women are beautiful and deserve to be appreciated and acknowledged deeply. He is sharing this sentiment with Hermione. She deserves to feel beautiful by virtue of who she is.
