A romantic, angsty live story, to be sure.

I'm sorry to hear your muse is on hiatus. Perhaps if you reread some of your other stories it could get a jump start? I hope to read more from you soon. I love your writing have have reread your stories multiple time! It's like an old friend, I know it will be there and always fabulous!

Much love and keep trying!

ahh...me thinks you have been....a-mused..re-mused?...but just don't ab-muse anything whilst plotting your current works.
Lovely little piece, Snape's roses were an unexpected, and sweet, touch.

You are one of my absolute favorite authors, and your sharing of your life and all its ups and downs and sideways's makes you all that more real to us readers.

all the best to you in your new place and to the new warren of plot bunnys nestled(and breeding) in the cupboard

Your Muse like mine thrives on chaos. as always it was a great story even if it was shorter then were use to from you. Now my Muse would like to help with the proding of yours. If you were going to continue this story it would be intresting to see Severus become obsessive over Hermione as a result of this incounter. I'm sure your muse could come up with a more twisty and satisfying plot but some times all it takes is the seed being planted to get them started. Anyhow good luck with the being on your own. at 27 I'm still waiting for that to happen.

Oh what a lovely story. But how could you leave it like this???
I'm unsatisfied. The story has potential for a long one.

BTW I do hope you finish "Daddy DearestII" one day.

Wish you the very best for you life Miss Figg.

I understand the shock of suddenly living alone, and the difficulty of adjusting to the silence. It took me a short while, too, but now I LOVE living by myself. Sounds to me like you did the right thing; teaching kids to stand on their own two feet is hard for all parties no matter how old they are. I would bet my space bar that you feel guilty, but I believe it's true that you can't take care of anyone else if you're not taking care of yourself. I've been following your writing (and occasionally check your LJ blog to see what's going on in your life), so I know this is a change you've needed for a VERY long time. You've done so much more for your family than anyone has a right to expect. Hang in there.

Oh, and I liked the story, too. :o)

I really liked this story Ruth. It is a bit different from your usual but I think it's very good. It could happily end here, but there is potential if you wanted to continue. Lots of questions: what was Snape's Horcurx, where is he living now, what does he do for work? is he still brewing potions or had he chosen something else. What's going to happen to Hermione now? See? So many options.

On another note, just wanted to say that I have been following your posts on LJ (I'm madeleone over there) and I think you have made a very brave and gutsy move. It's hard sometimes, dealing with kids and family. But you deserve to have a life of your own too, and maybe your moving out will give them the push they need to be independent and not rely on you to smooth things for them.

And don't worry too much about your muse, she'll show up eventually. (if you want my opinion, she's already there, if this story is any indication.) But maybe if you don't think so, she's just sitting back and letting you get settled in. :) Take care Ruth and blessing to you.

dear miss figg, i am a fan. i sympathize with your situation and hope you seek financial advice. if the kids don't pay the mortgage, which apparently they haven't been helping, then it will reflect on you and not them. sometimes it helps to have a third party mediate. good luck, mele
