Severus is such a dunderhead himself sometimes. Although now I want to shake the both of them! Great chapter, looking forward to more.

You are killing me. I really thought Sevs self pity and doubting in terms of Hermiones feelings were over. Does he not know her at all? Don't get me wrong I am a sucker for drama as long as things work out in the end. However he has a way of making things so final without the entire story. For some reason the way you wrote this pushed the reality of how busy Hermione had been. Although I find it a little hard to belive that she wouldn't pop down to the lab to at least say good morning if she missed him the night before. Can't wait for more. Well done!!!

This was sad. Simply sad. Two people who care for each other this much should not be so misunderstanding of the others needs. For her to immerse herself in work so as not to think about things overmuch and him to simply leave was cowardly, but in character. I hope they find their way back to one another and really talk. They need to learn that compromise must come from both of them. Excellent story and a great update! Thank you, HG4eva
