Very interesting start! Think this is the first time I've come accross a marriage law fic in which there was no requirement that a marriage actually be consumated or the couple live together. Usually the excuse for the law is a declining wizarding population & an increase in the number of squibs. Don't think I noticed any comment in this chapter on motivation for the law? Am really curious about how this develops. I'm a devotee of Draco/Hermione, but am cautiously intrigued by Severus' role here ... And Narcissa's dead ... Have to see the effect on Lucius & Draco. I'm not being especially jolted by deviations from canon at this point, just enjoying a good story. Keep it up!

Nice 2nd chapter, a lot of developments gelling. Am mulling over the ring Draco's given Hermione, since it's not the traditional Malfoy ring: does it have any special magical properties? Also enjoying the Draco/Hermione conversations while she's working on his injuries. She's much more antagonistic/suspicious/rebellious that he is. Love Lucius & Draco's surprise at her refusing to live at the manor. Am somewhat surprised at the Order's accepting training from Lucius on such short notice so complacently... Will be looking forward to his upcoming going underground. One tiny complaint: Draco would refer to Narcissa as Mum, not Mom. Oh yes, fascinating that Draco & Hermione have discussed her affair with Severus, & that he's is not objecting. Doubt that that will continue! I'm still reading & enjoying.

Great story! And great writing. I know this is Draco/Hermione, but to be honest I like the Severus/Hermione connection a lot more in this...

You mentioned that you were not sure about cannon as you had read so much fanfiction. There are a couple of things. I am not sure about cancer in the wizarding world as it might be treated by a potion with little side effects, but Dragon Pox is an incurable disease that the wizards have. Draco's Grandfather Abraxas Malfoy died of it. Molly was aghast that they had used stitches to sew Arthur up after he was attacked by the snake. The bite did not respond to healing potions like blood replenishing potions and magical healing (the use of wands) as the snake was a magical creature as apposed to a normal snake.

They do not use Christ as a interjection. They use Merlin, and Merlin's saggy Y-fronts (there are like our tighty whites but have been worn and stretched out. Ron also used bloody Hell and Oie as interjections. I have use Morgana's crystal ball in a story. Morgana is Merlin's sister

Tom Riddle used Lord Voldemort as his name but JK Rowlings made clear that that was not a title normally used in the wizarding world they did not have nobility; nobility is granted by the crown and as there is a separation of the two world for the most part the crown would not grant the title to wizards. King Arthur did not give Merlin a title. The wizards trace the magic line back to him and his sister Morganna . Madame Malfoy would be correct for Draco's wife or maybe Dame Malfoy (the wife of a Baron[referred to as Sir] but that is a stretch).

I do like you having Hermione and Snape as lovers; plus he stands up at the wedding for his godson. Nice touch. Up date soon. You have the start of a good story

Oh wow! What a great first chapter! I was hooked from start to finish, and I do so hope you continue this story. It has such a great beginning, and could be taken so many ways. I hope you're a happy ending writer. I'm a big marshmallow when it comes to happy endings. Well, enough babbling from me.
