I liked the calm dinner scenario.

Love the way you 'recycle' characters - Adam was a hoot. Poor Snape... LOL
I'm really, really, REALLY can't wait to see whether you'll be able to pull this one off with your usual flair. Even if I miss a deadline or two... ;-)

First I didn't like the idea of an unexperienced Snape and Hermione a prostitute.
But know I really want to know how the story continues.
Looking forward!

Do you know that you are the first seriou SS/HG author I ever read? I was playing around with odd pairigs and one of your stories popped up. I quickly became addicted, though my ineptitude in reviewing hardly shows it. I devoured everything you wrote that I could afford (free) on the burning pen. But this thought has been buggering around with my head for some time. I wonder, after all the after Hogwarts stories of Snape's alternate professions, why is he never an ingredient seeker? You have had him be a potions cultivator and a potions and formula treasure hunter. But I have never, in a single story, ever heard of him proffessionally being a potions ingredients collector. They require plenty of dangerously aquired things. Dragon's heart, things that are poisonous, things that are guarded, things rare or nearly impossible to find. Phoenix tears, unicorn blood, teradactyle mushrooms, whatever you can think of. You have had him gather for himself. I always thought that you would be the best person to write something like that. No one does action like you do.

Sorry for the selfserving rant. The story twisted about is engenious. I am looking forward to it all. Thank you once again for sharing your exceeding talent.

Hi Mia. I don't agree that Severus hasn't been an ingredient seeker. But, then again, I've never gone into depth about it, so you have a point. I just believe seeking potions already established, rather than ingredients was more interesting overall. I do speak of him bartering for ingredients, but since it was monetary, there wasn't any point in making it more. But there really could be action in getting those ingredients. Just something that never crossed my mind too deeply. I've had him seek ingredients with Hermione in harrowing situations on occasion. It's always been something in passing rather than a major occurence. But I have touched on it.

Great first chapter, can't wait to see what happens next with our sexually-naive Severus.

An unusual take on Snape for you, but you're doing a stellar job so far. Had to laugh at the 'far too much money' line - so entirely in character it was. But I do hope we'll get to see more than a standard classroom scenario... ;-)

Ms. Figg,

I know you have touched on it before. I should have clarified better. Sorry. My point is that you have never had a story centered around that. It always seemed to me to be a logical leap. If he was no longer acting as a teacher or a potions master or headmaster, what is he most knowledgable and adept in? What niche could he fill better than any other? WHo else would have the knowledge, the foritude and the discipline required to find and demand excellence from the most rare of ingredients? I always saw him going to an apothecary shop and being pissed out of his mind that they did not have ingredients that he needed and those they did have were inferior. Upon investigation the shop was not crooked, they just didn't have access to anything better without charging an arm and a leg for it.

I do remember the story line where he and Hermione went into the dragons' cave for some flower or another and he used some invention of his to slow down time and allow them to collect and leave. I believe he was courting HG and that was his way of stirring her adrenaline and attention.

Sorry. Ideas run away from me. But I am rubbish at following through. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my pointless ranting.

Thanks :)
