Poor Hermione. I have a theory about the roses. Well a couple actually. The first theory is that the dead, wilted rose is symbolic of Hermione now and that the vibrant one is symbolic of her when she was with Severus. The second one is kind of just something I heard once about how a guy gave his girlfriend a dozen roses and one of them was fake. He told her he would love her til the last one died and obviously the fake one lasted forever...or something to that effect. But my first theory is better anyway. :) I hope Hermione gets straightened out soon..and part of me also hopes that her and Severus get back together...no matter how many twists and turns this story may take to get to that point! (if it even does)

Amazing story. Really can't wait to see what happens.

My thoughts on the two roses is this:

The fake "perfect" rose represents Hermione's past and in it what she wished she still was, perfect. Be it in her career or her relationship with Severus, it is a wish.

The wilted rose represents her as she is now. Scared and dead inside. She feels that there is nothing to live for that her choices and circumstances have destroyed any chance she may have had in being happy.

I really hope to see more of this story soon. You can never go wrong with a good angsty story. I am not sure if you have an update list, but if you do please include me.

i love this story and love how its updated quickly (as i'm becoming addicted to it)
