I like your nice Snape. I write him that way, too.
Focus on the positive reviews. If all fanfiction was truly canon-compliant, there would be only a smattering of stories under the HG/SS heading, and they'd probably be hexing the hell out of each other in every last one of them.
Trying to stay too close to the original works, in my opinion, means missing a bang-up opportunity to explore a lot of really fun creative avenues. I'm glad you write the characters the way you see them- please don't feel like you need to apologize for it. You're the one spending your time and talent to put it out there.
I liked your description of the bed... kinda makes me wanna be in it. :o) And I liked that he held her hand. It was sweet without being over the top.
