Always love your stories, this is another one I am thoroughly enjoying! You always have such interesting storylines and yet remain impressively lucid and fast paced. Thanks for posting, I shall eagerly await for more :) ~Marie

best lines:
Severus took in Longbottom’s casual clothes. “You were at the meeting?” Yes, being unmarried, and a highly paid healer, I’m first in line to be paired up. I’m still going to the demonstration though. This law can’t be passed.”
“The fight as I understand it was started by some over enthusiastic protesters who decided to take out their anger on ministry employees. You wife should keep better company.”
Severus slammed a fist down on his desk, causing Fudge to jump.
“That fight was started by a Ministry official who shoved a young girl to the ground when she said she refused to be paired up with an old man like him.”
“Rest assured Mr. Fudge I may be married and unaffected by this proposed law, but I will take just as active a part in opposing it any anyone else. You cannot do this to your public.”
“I’m not sure either way, but I heard from Madame Rosemerta that she left for Cairo early.” He said, not mentioning how relieved he was.
Before she could answer him, he had shoved a cracker in her mouth.
“Just in case you are thinking of talking some more, I have plenty to shove in your mouth to keep you quiet if I run out of food.”
(Fun chapter. Nice to see how others are being affected. Now, even if the law is repealed, the problem that the Monstery is trying to solve still remains - low birth rate. Perhaps our couple - together with folks like Neville and Draco - could suggest ways to get around this. Like child support payments from the Ministry, better child care, support for female employees who wish to take a year out to have a kid, and .... research into fertility potions. And social and financial penalties for arranged marriages between couples who are closer related than, say, fourth cousins. And an investiation into why some couples - Weasleys - are so much more fertile than others. That could be entertaining. Give Molly and Arthur serious roles...)

Good start. Fic or not, I don't think I'd want Snape to be too warm and fuzzy. He still had a hard life, a miserable upbringing, and had to depend on his wits and stoicism to survive and do the things he was ordered to do--for both sides. I think he's got a soft center, but he doesn't let it be known. Your Severus here sounded plausible in a one-on-one conversation with Hermione. (I love it when Severus gets the girl, so to speak. ;) )
I hope you're going to update soon. I'm interested to see where you're going to take us.

I don't care if he's ooc, it works. I can actually see her presenting it to him that logically and it working. Snape was always suspicious of anything that smelled of romance, and Hermione wouldn't be much of a flirt. With these two as you have written them, an open, honest and sensible relationship would hav much mroe chance of working than any other pairing; even the ones I write! ;)

I haven't read the story. I just wanted to say that you need to ignore people when they complain about someone being ooc. If they want someone in character, they need to read the books. The whole purpose of fanfiction is to have the characters be as you see them.
