I knew they'd get through it rather easily and quickly; that's the friendship they have. Plus, you write them so well that it's very much like a conversation/disagreement between any two men on the planet, minus the $50 words. lol The testing of waters by Lucius and Hermione was fun and realistic. I know they have a way to go, but I truly enjoy watching them grow together and toward one another. I can't wait until he realizes he missed the moment when he started to honestly love her because he can't remember not. Hermione on the other hand will be able to pinpoint the time, date, place and what they were each wearing. ha ha ha Thank you and Happy New Year!! HG4eva

Chapters 16&17: Hermione is jealous of her forced husband's first wife - well, that says a lot! And she feels inadequate beside Narcissa - until she realises how bland and dull she is. I'm not quite getting how she and Snape have come together - I'm sure there will be more on that subject to come though. I would so love to see Snape with his onyx button at the neck of his shirt - a lovely image. I don't think I'd have been able to discuss coloured parchments in the face of that either. Poor old Lucius can't do right for doing wrong at the moment, but I think his day is coming.

Hello Dear and Seasons Greetings. Firstly Crimbo is a bit of British slang for Christmas and has only really been used for about the last five years or so. Some geezer called Avid Merrion had a song called "Proper Crimbo" and you had to see the video to appreciate what drivel it was. I wouldn't recommend it! Secondly, Lumb is the village where I live. It is in the countryside of East Lancashire (Snape's probable county in England of birth)and is about six miles from the town of Burnley which now boasts a Premier Division football team. OK....on with the review. I loved the dialogue between Severus and Lucius and hopefully Lucius now appreciates that he not only opens his gob and disengages his brain with Hermione but with others he cares for too. Fortunately the boys' friendship and history appears to have allowed them to ride the potential storm his lack of tact could have caused. It is heartening to see his relationship with Hermione becoming warmer and more tolerant as I'm sure a united front at Hogwart's will be better for them all round. Well I'm having a party on New Year's Eve with neighbours and friends and relations all invited...and you too LaBib and the boys (yes in the Lancashire countryside), as any true good Scot would. My youngest daughter, the lucky mare will be in Edinburgh. And so I wish you and yours a Happy Hogmanay and a safe, healthy, prosperous and muse-filled New Year. Best wishes, Love Ali xxxxx.

I must admit that I am a regular lurker...
But the time has come for me to say "YES, THANK THE HEAVENS! A new story from probably my favorite HP fanfiction author."
I really do enjoy your stories and I think I did comment once how you made me an LM/HG reader, and I sincerely thank you for it.
I keep comming back and rereading your stories, there is just something about your writing and the way you write Lucius, yes Hermione.
So once again I'd just like to thank you for sharing your stories with the rest of us!

I like the 'slice of life' attitude of this chapter, it has a nice feel of moving forward for them. Perhaps Lucius should ask Severus to speak to Hermione about her reluctance? Therapists are hard to come by in Wizarding Britain, it seems, and she does seems to ahve a lot of PTSD.

I'm really looking forward to Hogwarts and reading about their home in the Headmaster chambers. And the man-bonding heart to heart ended in such a y chromosome way, I laughed! Four brothers gives me license to say you've got your conversation man-genes perfect!

Yes,yes, I'm a lurker. This story is wonderfully written, so descriptive. I enjoy each and every chapter. I especially liked the teasing banter in this chapter. It's about time they started to get along. I've noticed that draco has not appeared in this story. What does he think about his father's marriage? I think it would be enormously satisfying for him to come and meet his new stepmother.
