ch 45 - I really like this Sorting Hat! He's not just a sorting subroutine; he actually has insight into people, and I'm glad he and Lucius had that talk. Maybe Lucius will get him a nice cleaning. :=)

I also enjoyed the Lucius-Severus talk, with Severus revealing how he knew Lucius was a true friend by the "sorting sofa." Anyone who survived the sofa test was a true friend, or as much of a friend as possible under Voldy's days. You're doing a great job of keeping Lucius as vulnerable yet controlling. Well done! Thanks for the new chapter!

Are you sure you have posted the right chapter. From the Outside (TOC) it's says Chapter 45. The Sorting Hat. But inside it's Chapter 46. Some Revelations

I don't know, I think initially the lack of morals and the bad boy image would be attractive but after a while you start to get annoyed with the constant bad boy. Well I would anyway...

I do it by genre too. My bookshelves are a bit like a mess of organisational systems.

Hm, a genetically triggered emotional accelerator. That would mean that part of the structure would be a factor common to all Pureblood families. Are newer Purebloods affected as strongly? Meaning those who have attained Pure status in the last three or four generations as well as the more ancient families? Can't be in the water, since there are too many divergent sources for the public. Not ingested, pssibly inhaled or worn. Still think magical laundry soap is a shot, but a standard 'Scourgify' would probably remove it. Perhaps it's in the wand polish? A wand is the one common factor for all magical folk so transmission that way would gaurantee everyone was affected. Waiting for the next one!

For a few chapters now I have had an inkling that I knew where the to in is and how it is spreading. The Sorting Hat pretty much confirmed this for me...

Great Goddess I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!! I LOVE the Sorting Hat! He needs to be in stories more often if he's written that well. He's a good foil for Lucius and someone (?) who Luc can talk to or argue with that will help him figure things out. So....I'm guessing the chemical is something absorped through the skin since it's not ingested, so my question is....do they have magical Drycleaners?

Oh, I've said it before and I'll say it again... I love plot! And I think you were very clever to use the sorting hat to investigate! That's the kind of thing I live for when reading fic. And the announcement! Congrats to the Malfoys! Does Hermione know? Doesn't seem like she has noticed yet. And Lucius hasn't really reacted to it yet, either. Wonder what he feels about it. Can't wait to find out.

So... no food, no drink. There are lots of possibilities you have brought up (rat seducing hair gel, as well as others), it will be fun to try to figure this out and see where you are going with it as well.

I really loved this chapter because it was fresh and new. After reading thousands of fics that's really saying something. I've read a few scenes with conversations with 'The Hat' but they all revolve around houses. I liked that the hat saw Lucius' thoughts and the way that it realised that hermione is preggers. Much cuteness and fun ahead with baby news. Oh yeah and the plot is getting good, happy writing. (I know you love Lucius but check out Snapes_goddess fic "The Bond". Best Snape fic).

That was a great way to get information, I must admit. That was fun, the interactions between Lucius and the hat.
