Lavender is such a mean, spiteful witch. I don't want to believe that she would deliberately hurt Susan's feelings like that, but given who she is, she would be the type to stop at nothing to get who she considers to be her man. I honestly hope Susan retains a bit of her rage at Ron and lets loose on Lavender when the truth comes out.

Lavender just doesn't get it, does she? Putting out doesn't make you marriage material. And I don't care what the stars say, unless they have my cell #. Loved the griffen mating imperative, but Hermione is likely to put up a fight in more than a duel. Hope Sev's in it for the long haul! More, please.

Well, yes, the insecurity about being a Newblood ... the "innate, subconscious sense of non-belonging" that you so deftly write about... it perfectly fits Hermione - in fact, I don't see any other way she could be. Rowling's so wrong about Hermione being suited for Ron, it's ridiculous. I don't agree with all the HHr fans either - Harry's pretty much a family kinda person. Different driving forces. Killing Voldemort is the end of Harry's journey, but only the beginning of Hermione's. (And Ron never travels anywhere so he doesn't count.)
