I like this fic. I think that Draco, Snape and Harry were very in character. I like the level of denial you have going on here so far. Also, I always like it when author's don't have people faint at critical moments.

A tiny criticism: I thought the justification for Harry's phoenix power was a little too easy and convenient. I got the impression that you weren't very interested in that part of the story, that you wanted to get to the 'meat' of the story, which is the interaction between Snape, Draco and Harry, which I can understand.

I thought maybe that Harry's wand could have splintered, driving shards of wood and tiny fragments of phoenix feather into him. Also, maybe that he got the phoenix tears in the Chamber? Just a thought.
