this is a wonderful beginning can't wait to read more of this. The ride seems like it could be real fun and fraught with with angst just right up my alley.

Wow, very good start.
Yes it's true that the plotline is one often used, but it's a great start. Each version takes on a different feel as it's guided by the differring points of view and imagination of the varied authors. Some, sad to say, are lacking in writing skills and don't do any story justice. So far, your skills show promise of a great story. It's facinating to watch a broken/abused Harry be administered to the snarky yet capable Snape, aaaaand if it ends in slashy goodness....that's all the better. I'd love to see how you lead your plot on.
