Followed the recc from Keladry... and I'm SO glad I did. I am totally hooked now! This is such a great story!! Your Snape is perfect... very well rounded character wise! Keep up the great work!!

I came across this story from a rec on LJ by mia madwyn. I'm so glad she recced it - it's wonderful!! I don't usually read on AFF so I am doubly happy because I may have never stumbled across it at all otherwise. I very much enjoy this grown up version of Hermione and the "new and improved" Severus Snape. He is so different from the self-debasing character we usually read about in fanfiction (not that I dont' liek that character too - it's just, this is a refreshing change of pace). Also, I read your ANs about replying to reviews, and although I feel like I hype this site a little too much (since I'm just a random reader/writer there) I have to say, if you want "ease of use" as far as reading and replying to reviews, I've found that TPP is hands down the best archive for just that. It's incredibly well suited to both the author and the readers (readers can just click and see all their reviews and read any responses authors may have given right there on one page - it's really nice), so if you're considering other archives to post this (or other stories) at, I'd recommend TPP. If this turns out to be as good as it seems by these beginning chapters, I think it would be nice to see it on other archives too just for the added exposure. I could easily see this being the next fic that 'everyone is talking about'. :)

The mind games Hermione is playing with herself about how Evan feels about her, and her trying to find comfort in his presence broke my heart. And Severus' startled look when he recognized her in the bar took my breath away. Sexy and occupied with thoughts of the beautiful witch on his arm, he still noticed Hermione and for a moment could not take his eyes away from hers. Well done!

Your story gets better with each chapter. I was so hurt for Hermione and angry with Evan for being so callous that I could have cheerfully strangled him. After having just witnessed Hermione's humiliation and the admission by Evan that his betrothed has only a few months left to live, surely Severus will try to find a way to help her through this unhappy time... will he be moved to try to create potion to help her survive this poisoning?

Great writing, BTW.

Another awesome chapter! Hermione is so brave, and full of surprises. The way she handled Evan's betrayal of her with Pansy was inspired. Right there in the Ministry! Woohoo! I'm glad that Severus is working on her case with Healer Wellens. C'mon Severus! Get crackin'! She needs you.

Oh my gosh! Compelling first chapter? TOTALLY! I'm so glad that there are four other chapters after this. Really, I don't like WIP, but when there were so many reccs for it over on LJ, I just couldn't resist. You're incredible. I'll probably friend you if that's okay with you?

I like that he's turned up the UST; he's quite a sexy thing, your Snape. And I'm glad that he's taken an interest in Hermione's case because it's her and not just because it's interesting.
