Very interesting more twist and turns to it. Poor Phelan. Looking forward to the next chapter.

holy crap, everyone's an unseen mess, here. Snape's nightmares about Dumbledore's death was a brilliant little unseen touch. nicely done.

wow - what now...give them a break....I'm exhausted from all their ordeals.

PS: sad I didn't win but happy you enjoyed my try. I did with gusto.

Ok, just so you know, you are pure evil, to leave us like this..... But you know that you deserve hugs, kisses, and cuddles for bringing back Sirius this way, AND making him healthy and youthful again. I'm a little late in reading this latest chapter; I wasn't out reading new stuff lately, and missed the update, but I love it. Simply love it. So I'm back to let you know that I will be looking for another update, soon, I hope.

I've been following for months, but have never reviewed before.... but I thought I would give the contest a shot.

The runes are as follows:

*naudiz "need"
*ī(h)waz/*ei(h)waz "yew-tree"
*gebō "gift"
*berkanan "birch"

Okay, so as near as I can work out, the birch is almost like a counterpoint to the yew... because yew is a wood typically symbolizing death and such while birch is a symbol of rebirth. And a need or "taking" something would be the antithesis of a gift. So the birch wand gives the gift of life and rebirth while the yew is an instrument of death and taking.

I was a little wary when I started this story- afraid of the overt Mary Sue description. But I'm halfway through what you've written so far, and I love it! I never review before I've caught up with a story, and I'll review again, but I had to say it now before I forget to tell you how much I'm getting into this story. :-)

OH MY GOD!! this chapter was amazing! the mix of emotion i went through was like one huge rollercoaster! it was none stop and oh dear god when Cole was trying to get Snape to get up my heart broke into a million pieces and i began bawling my eyes out. This is just WOW! i cannot wait for the next chapter i'm still on the edge of my seat as to find out how Voldemort possessed Harry. Please keep the chapters coming. This is by far my favourite fan fiction :)

First of all, I'm very much enjoying this fic... Despite my skepticism at the initial premise (I tend to hate OFC/OMC fic as they usually veer badly into Mary Sue-ism!), this has been a great ride thus far and I cannot wait to see how it ends!

As for the rune challenge, the runes in the pic, clockwise from upper left are: Nauthiz, Eihwaz, Berkana, and Gebo. Their individual meanings are detailed here, followed by my analysis of their choice...

Nauthiz = Delays, restriction. Resistance that leads to strength, innovation, Distress, confusion, conflict, and the power of will to overcome them. Endurance, survival, determination. A time to exercise patience. Recognition of one's fate. Major change. Face your fears.

Eihwaz = Strength, reliability, dependability, trustworthiness. Enlightenment, endurance. Defense, protection. The driving force to acquire, providing motivation and a sense of purpose. Indicates that you have set your sights on a reasonable target and can achieve your goals. An honest man who can be relied upon.

Berkana = Birth, general fertility, both mental and physical and personal growth, liberation. Regenerative power and light of spring, renewal, promise of new beginnings, new growth. Arousal of desire. A love affair or new birth. The prospering of an enterprise or venture.

Gebo = Gifts, both in the sense of sacrifice and of generosity, indicating balance. All matters in relation to exchanges, including contracts, personal relationships and partnerships.

So, as I read it, your resurrected Sirius is a man of endurance and determination bringing power of will, strength and reliability. He can be relied upon, and brings regenerative power and renewal through his gifts of sacrifice and generosity. His presence restores a balance lost, as indicated by his ability to vanquish Voldemort once and for all, saving Harry and all our fabulous band of (sometimes unlikely) heroes!
