I really like the idea that if there is anything that would pull him out of the water to land it's magic. Completely makes sense that he's so drawn to it that it's almost like breathing for him. Is the magic like a fix he needs to have to make him feel whole or alive? Interesting concept! I also love that you have Hermione becoming a bit obsessive so much so that she's reading tabloids (makes me think of Men in Black, when they were looking for alien activity on earth). Of course the Alexandra library would reel her in (notice the fishing terminology ;p )
What are the odds that she would have bumped into him.... Had he been watching her? No matter, your story is like others you've written with really great history and mythology associated to it. I like the brief dive down into the god, Thoth in figuring out where the library is. Very cool! So Lucius intrigues her with his mind of all things (there are other things about him that would do it for me but alas, I'm no Hermione!)
Great update! Thank you, you are an amazing writer.

I'm loving your chilled out, world touring Lucius. Hermione tries to arrest him and all he does is laconically complain that she's no fun. :)
He's not really a merman, is he? I'd assumed that Muggles thought that because they saw him emerging from the sea, but that he was actually human in the photos? If not, I'm sure some of the later chapters will be... interesting. And either way, he's being a bit careless, isn't he?
His growing aversion to eating fish is amusing, a little detail that brought his situation to life.
The magical suppression is interesting, and, like others, I'm intrigued to see where it goes. Is it an issue of not using magic or not being around others who are using it? I guess all will be revealed in time.
And finally - you do realise that I won't be able to look at a beach now without imagining a naked Lucius emerging from the sea? How could you? ;)

I've always felt that the destruction of the Library at Alexandria was one of the greatest disasters to ever befall human culture. Had I been Cleopatra VII, Julius Ceasar would have been paying damages for centuries! I loved how you set up the meeting between them, and his response to her getting her wand! I look forward to more.

Brazen thing, isn't he? Looks like she'll be hanging around Alexandria some more... wonder if he'll hang around to be seen? Thanks for a very enjoyable read :)

FBS the start to what I'm sure will be another wonderful fic from you! I like Lucius/Hermione fis and this one looks to be the goods!
I have to admit I passed on it a few times on the updates page before I decided to dive in and read and I'm glad I did!
I wish this were to be a longer fic but as you said you are working diligently on your other peices something which you followers would be glad of.
Great stuff keep it up!

Definitely one of the most unique and well-written stories I've ever come across on AFF. The idea of a witch or wizard needing to at least periodically return to magical places to renew their energy is quite interesting, I can't wait to see where you go with this. Nice to see Lucius has gotten a chance to Muggles for how they really are. I look forward to seeing Hermione's reaction to that little bombshell. Well done!
