I rather liked this chapter but was thrown by the poem/song. It just seemed a touch out of place. However, I liked the flashbacks and Lucius getting caught up in his past.

Mmmmmmmm. Shirtless Lucius. *Grins lasciviously* Great update, and as always, I can't wait for more!

I'm glad to see Lucius has a means to defend himself; I have a sneaking suspicion he will be in need of it. If you have ever seen Jackie Chan's 'Drunken Master', there is a wonderful sequence of the use of the chinese flexible spear. I found myself thinking of that during your description of his kata exercises. It's one of Chan's earlier films, made for the Hong Kong market.

Oops! Hermione is now standing up for Lucius. What an odd change of circumstances, and she did it without even realising she was doing it. She's definitely considering him in a new way. And odd that someone outside the Malfoy family should know or have heard that Lucius' twin may NOT have died at sixteen, but been paralysed. That's certainly a motive and reason to suspect that he may be the one trying to frame Lucius. Great chapter, darkephoenix, well-written and provocative.

Echoes of the Borgias, the Medici, the Valois, the Wars of the Roses, and a few others. Nothing like a little Cain and able to jump start a family feud. but I think it's far more likely Liren was attempting a pre-emptive strike and it backfired. So Narcissa is involved? Makes sense--he could hardly manage this on his own, could he?

This was a great chapter. I look forward to reading more. I think that Narcissa is keeping a major secret from her son. I think that Liren is at her home because of what she said before Draco entered the room. I hope that she is careful and doesn't get hurt by him.
