Hair is essentially keratin, in other words a protein. Unless that "clipping" was actually *plucked* from the baby's head, you'd have no cells to get DNA from. This wouldn't be as jarring if you hadn't specifically gone to the trouble of mentioning all those books Hermione consults to double-check; about ten seconds on google would have given you that same information.

Yeah! I'd turn "Hero" into a Squib and make him be a bedpan orderly for St Mungo's for the rest of his life with magically imposed house-arrest.

I like the way you do this story; you should write mystery novels! I'd buy one for sure.
