Too many funerals turn into circuses. When I was young I remember that when Richard Burton, the actor, died, the reporters were so bad that many of the mourners threw rocks at them to keep them away from his family and former wives at the graveside. Good chapter, and I like the frail aunt already. As for the contract the money-grubber sent, I assume it will be shredded and returned in a howler?

I liked it. I felt so bad for Hermy though. I'm not surprised by what people are doing. There will always be those that are sincere and those that are out to make money. I can't wait for Hermione to meet her cousin...I hope the cousin is who I think that it is!

I dont like Jacinthe. I never understood the need to dress up for a funeral....if I am sad I want to wear my comfy track suit and I want to cry my ugly cry and not wear make-up or do my hair. I want to BE sad, not worried about how I look. Does that make sense? When My Father in law passed on I was 7 1/2 months pregnant and had been on bedrest for months so I never bought alot of maternity clothes. What I had consisted of knit elastic waisted track pants and several tee shirts (My favorite being my Brewed by the Half Blood Prince one).... My idiot spouse dragged me to the mall in a wheelchair to shop for a funeral dress and I thought WHY? Would his dad care more that I was wearing a fancy dress to his funeral or that his grandchild was growing safely in my tummy? (mind you his father was so excited that I was having a girl since his own daughter had died in a car accident 2 years earlier I am leaning more towards the second) But I watched My mother in law primp and preen that morning and thought if it were me, you would be lucky if I even spoke to anyone. I would likely sit there in my track suit like a zombie, probably a drugged zombie.
Sorry about the rant...I guess that chapter struck a chord with me on that note. Funerary practices and customs have always been a spot of interest for me. I took Thanatology in high school and we went to a funeral home for a field trip. It was very very interesting and in college I took several more thanatology classes and did a short internship for forensics with a Medical Examiner. I learned more than you can ever imagine about mortuary affairs, embalming, funeral practices and customs throughout the ages. It was what I originally hoped to do, be a medical examiner, but on the last day of my internship a child was brought in and I knew it wasnt for me after all. As long as the 'patients' were adults I was okay with it, but I broke down at the sight of a child.
Anyhow, darlin', sorry about the long review LOL and sorry I dont do it often, but you know me, I suck at reviewing LOL

Vultures that's what they are. Those reporters and her so called "family" that only wanted her money!
It was really sad, how people can just take a funeral like that. No respect at all!!

Just read the 3 chaps and I like it so far..
It's very emmotional and dark in the beginning!! But now I hope the fates will make it so Tom wont have control.
And I can't wait to read about a inexperienced Lucius LOL. It will be "refreshing" *g*
And I love Gamay too! She's a nice elf.
And what Wineyard elves wear, maybe they wear different wine coloured cloth, Those working with the red wine grapes wear red cloth and those with the white wine wear some kind of champagne coloured cloth. And Those who work with the other side branches of wine like Rose wear something pink or just plain white lol?
