This fic certainly lives up to Life in an Alien Land 1 in skill and style. I have a thing for Snape, so I like this fic even more. I have read other stories where authors try to give other points of view of simultaneous events, but they rarely do it well. I always felt like the first story was the primary and all the other points of view were just cardboard, mostly because the author could only write one pairing well and couldn't adapt to include another character's thought processes. This fic does not do that. This fic makes you think Ginny and Severus are the main characters and we really get to see what they want, hope, and dream about. This chapter where they are at the manor for the first time might be my favorite. The attention paid to the brushes that Ginny comes across in the bathroom were priceless. Those details make a good story.

I just had to review after this chapter. It was a shock. You ripped us from the manor, then destroyed all of the people who could have helped the couple. Nuts! I was going to stop here, but I just can't. Must keep reading...

Well I have to say I'm glad this story is finished and hope the Lucius/Tonks story is not as dark.

I just read part I of this story and had to read part II as well. It was very, very dark but we were forewarned and the story does deal with Fenrir Greyback whom we all know to be a extremely vicious and evil character. Your telling of the tale of both Ginny and Snape's repeated brutalization at the hands of both death eaters and werewolves, was both heart wrenching and horrifying. And yet through it all they were able to find each other and survive their ordeals, which in itself is a tribute to the human (or in this case wizard) will to survive. I usually avoid dark, angsty pieces but your story drew me in, your writing style is very powerful and kept me wanting to read more to find out what would happen (even though after reading part I, I knew how it all would end. LOL) I say very good job!

Ron's story.

Well that was the easiest to read chapter so far. Looks like things are looking up for them.

I have been riveted to every disgusting, gory detail that you have so artfully displayed for public consumption. Your story chronicles the disparity of simple human comforts, both emotional as well as physical within an encampment of werewolves that would rival conditions discovered in concentration camps. As much angst and despair as the protagonists endure in your tale, you do not stip them of hope. By way of a simple touch shared by Ginny and Severus, they latch onto a human need to be loved, wanted and desired by another and this keeps them relatively sane within a world of insanity. This emotional bonding has sustained them for several months, but, I wonder how this tale will end; with boy finally getting the girl or being driven mad by their separation? Job well done!

The hand? A strange choice. Very painful place to bite, the but or the shoulder might have been much nicer to choose. Where is Severus?
