I'm not sure where all the sycophantic reviewers come from. But, they are more than likely the product of the same school system as the author.

Sycophantic?
I don't even know this author personally and since this is fanfic it's not as though there's any money involved. There isn't much to be gained by falsely claiming the fic is good if the reviewer doesn't really think it is.
Not everyone will enjoy every fic, and I'm sure there's something for just about everyone on the board. If you don't like the fic, feel free to express your opinion but I'm sure there's other fics on the site to enjoy; you don't have to continue reading this one. If there's something specific you don't like about the fic, by all means, lay it out there for the author. "Sucks ass" is your opinion and you're certainly entitled, but why not tell the author what exactly you think could be improved in the fic? That's one of the things the review function is for.
Some of us love the fic and want to know where it's going. The author's plotline is certainly a different take on it and I'm enjoying the plot twists and turns. I didn't expect this one to follow strictly conventional lines. I'm sure this fic has just barely scratched the surface and all the loose ends will be wrapped up in subsequent chapters.
We've got Draco and Ginny's role in this to explore as well as what will become of Severus and Hermione's son. Harry's divorced now and giving Lenore the googly eyes; Lenore wants the baby, so there's that to flesh out. Why did Ginny feel it was necessary to stop the wedding, and what sort of dirt does Lucius have that's suitable for blackmail?
In retrospect I don't think it's so shocking that they slept together. I think Severus is terribly lonely and grieving, and at this point Hermione is a warm, female body in which he can take a small measure of immediate comfort. I think he's plain exhausted; mentally and physically, and tired of being in pain, and this was a temporary, accidental escape for him. Plus, he was about to become a popsicle in the freezing front room of the cabin.
I'm looking forward to lots more chapters. ;0) I volunteer to beta read! I'm a stickler for grammar, style and spelling, and I'm a very quick read. ;0)

So....
Angry sex, especially at this point and time......baaaaaad idea. That's not ship, that's definitely a step in the wrong direction. And like someone else mentioned, have they not learned their lesson from the first frantic drunk fuck? When he wakes up, Snape is going to be even more angry at Hermione. He's highly irrational right now, driven by grief and anger and ignorance. He has no idea what her side of the story is, really, and he has not rationalized what role Draco and Ginny (and by extension Lucius) played in the disaster on his wedding day.
I don't know if it's even possible for him right now, but if he can actually take a moment to step back, take a deep breath and look at the big picture, he'd realize that Hermione is as much a victim as him, perhaps even moreso, as she has no money, no comfortable home and stable career to go back to, no realy friends, all of Britain hates her, and she gave up the one really special thing that was truly hers: her baby. What's more is she's grieving over lost loved ones too, so he does not hold the corner market on grief.
I keep coming back to this but I can't help it. Hermione does seem to have gotten some of her spunk back and I HOPE she takes this, examines her life and decides what's really important. I hope she has an epiphany that the research will still be there in a few months, in another country or whatever. But her baby boy might not be. She needs him as much as he needs her. Maybe that is what she needs to get her priorities straight and focus. From there, far away from Britain, she then can continue her research in peace with a better frame of mind and find that cure. This is what I'd like to see.
While she's getting her shit together and running off with her baby boy, I hope Severus does some serious soul searching, and angsting over Hermione. I hope he investigates all of the Malfoy schemes, using his super spy skills and kicks some butt where it needs to be kicked. I hope he takes an interest in Hermione's research and starts to help her out with that.
I hope he eventually goes to find her and......and this would be really funny......finds her 39 weeks pregnant again from their angry fuck in the Russian cabin, about to give birth AGAIN. But this time, he's not only ready to be a daddy to one but both kids. (And they live happily ever after...)
I'm an optimist....what can I say?
