Great chapter, great story so far! And yes, he certainly is a sinister baby. Seems like his brother isn't quite like that, though! I wonder (don't tell me) will he be the 'good' twin?
And it fits in with canon, seeing as Rubert obliviated Mrs. Cole (and Janice later, I assume) and made them forget about the twin brother.

I LOVE it! Great job! Can't wait to see where this will go.
Just one comment:
"There was a snip as the umbilical cord was severed, Mrs. Cole disposing of it without a second glance."
She wouldn't have been able to dispose of the umbilical cord yet, as it is attached to the placenta (after birth), which at that point would still be inside Merope.
