Awww, this was really sad. Knowing Harry is being so used. I wish I hadn't read it now :/, but at the same time I guess I kind of know what was going on in Snape's head in the beginning. And I guess in the other story, Harry is going to start unraveling this too.. Well, this just blows away my old theory (or at least modifies Snape's motivation part). But it's kind of like your reference to Faust. Where you have to chose which evil to trust. He has to destroy evil with evil. Oh well, this is gonna crush Harry.

Holy shit. I've always wondered, and now I know. I've wondered what it was Severus didn't want Harry to see in those memories, what exactly he didn't want him to remember, what Severus was truly hiding. I almost feel like crying, that Harry has been so manipulated, that Severus has been so calculating, but I suppose I really shouldn't be. Severus is my favourite character, and I just can't help always holding out for the best of him to come through. I knew from reading NoG that Severus has his own agenda in helping Harry to defeat Voldemort, freedom from his master.....but the rest of it.......it's just sort of shocking to have your worst thoughts and fears confirmed. It's definitely going to change the way I look at NoG. Having said that.....I still hope. Hope that all the time Severus has spent with Harry will change him, change his wanting revenge, make him see Harry for who he really is. Hope that his plan will backfire. It seems, when reading NoG that Severus is coming to truly care for Harry, but having read this, it all seems false and part of the plan. Oh my goodness......this story, while excellently written is definitely disturbing......quite the rude surprise, to me at least, and like I said, will colour my view when reading NoG.
