Oh wow the ANGST! But hey, Draco got a sound thrashing and scare, so it's all good. I would absolutely LOVE to be on an update email list for this story. I don't want to miss a single moment!

I have only read the first chapter but I love this story! It is so intriguing and well-written. I love how you have Harry acting at the end. The disbelief and the description seen through Severus's eyes is amazingly well-done. So often grief is portrayed through the griever's perspective but this is just so much more powerful. Well Done!

OMG - I am feeling deeply sorry for both of them at this point. Obviously Severus feels beyond redemption and completely unloveable and therefore any time wasted on him by the Savior of the Wizarding World (or whatever) is unacceptable. Unfortunately for Severus, Harry's heart has lead him to the one person whose life on an emotional level is on par with his own. Also unfortunately, Severus has been wrapped up in his blanket of denial, self-hatred and remorse for so long that it has become a second skin. Severus doesn't even realize that it firmly guides his emotions and when the opportunity provides itself to him to establish a loving and caring home to the one in his life who most deserves it and needs it, he turns the opportunity away because it would give himself joy. This may be the perfect example of the phrase, "to cut one's own nose off to spite one's face." Poor Severus. The only thing he didn't think to include in his plans of self-sacrifice (other than Harry not wanting his sacrifice at all) is that Harry cannot perform Occlumens - even if Severus can. So while Severus goes about his daily activities with his own personal mask on and his shields up, Harry struggles with the enormous weight of all of Severus' memories and emotions in addition to his own. How long before Harry realizes that in this type of bond one partner will absorb the magical power of the other should one die, and then decide that it would be best for all concerned if he flipped the switch to his own personal light - thereby giving Severus all his power in order to destroy Voldemert? Harry has nothing to live for now with no light at the end of his proverbial tunnel, and plenty of reason to 'check out' early. Any incentive for sticking around for the final showdown and beyond has most effectively been removed by Snape who has truly become a tunnel-visioned, self-sacrificing moron - in the extreme! I look forward to the possibility of someone - anyone - with some backbone smacking Severus around possibly on the path to some common sense. Maybe even Hermione. Honestly, anyone at this point. Harry is a hair-trigger away from pulling the trigger on himself and even with the enormous spotlight on him, no else in his life sees it or acknowledges it. Amazing.

Severus, you're an ass!!!
As of the chapter, great as always! I've never expected things to go well so fast so I suppose we could see this coming! But it really is taking its toll on Harry. I don't know how much more he can endure. I'm glad Malfoy got a fare warning! Serves him right!

Got started on this story yesterday and I have to tell you that this chapter is one of the most moving pieces I have read, especially regarding Snape. The first half from his POV is quite intense. It was also sweetly romantic, just not sickeningly so. Your style, this chapter in particular, is extremely good writing. As far as the opinion that perhaps Harry was too easily distracted from Ron's death - how often do we who mourn find ourselves caught up in the funeral arrangements, the endless amounts of paperwork required, the visitations, etc. This is all a means of distancing ourselves from the awful truth until a later time when it can be dealt with, even it cannot be dealt with well. We all play games subconsciously to make 'busy' work for ourselves to put off the inevitable moment of truth where we have to truly face the fact that our loved one is gone and is never coming back. In Harry's case, he actually has the better solution at hand (no pun intended) - he gets to ease his aching heart by providing solace to another. There is no better way to soothe your own hurt that to relieve someone else's.

Even though I hate a self loathing Snape you managed to make me love this story.
You are a truly talented writer.
