Rowling announced Dumbledore was gay at a book reading in NYC lot long after DH was released last year. I couldn't understand why some of my fan fic friends were so surprised, when I read Aberforth's description of how extremely close DD and Grindelwald were it was glaringly obvious.
It;s odd how I feel about the Malfoys. I enjoy a sympathetic and heroic portrayl of Lucius and Draco as well as an evil and fiendish one. I have always felt sorry for Narcissa, she never had a choice in anything. I'm sure it was an arranged pureblood marriage, and while Lucius was the dominant partner, 'He Who I Find Most Tedious and Tiresome' was in reality the boss in that marriage.
Rowling left their situation unresolved, she could have done a lot more with the Malfoys in DH, especially with Draco. After the last battle they hovered around the edges. I can understand Harry pleading for leinience for Narcissa, she saved his life in the forest; but why hadn't Lucius been picked up by the aurors and returned to Azkaban to await another trial?

Once she made the announcement, I reread the references to he and Grindelwald. Only then did I get it, so I think my literary gaydar is really lacking. And this from someone who took a Gay/Lesbian Lit. course (good old Salisbury).
My reactions to the Malfoys are this: his mom, though an unmitigated snob was not evil. Lucius, however, was. I could very easily liken him to Hermann Goering up until the end. Putting his precious progeny in the line of fire deflated him somewhat, but I'm sure he was responsible for any number of atrocities beforehand. Draco, on the other hand, though a shit, I thought had more promise. He was not cold-blooded like his father, who I know could have killed Dumbledore easily. He was more like his mother and suffering from an extreme case of conditioning and the same prejudicial mania that his parents spouting--though not to the degree of really being able to carry out any kind of genocide. I just found it really hard to believe that in the extreme case he was put in, such as the battle at Hogwarts that he did nothing. He had such a desire for notoriety and was supposed to be an opportunist of the highest caliber that I would think he'd take a stand on whichever side appeared to be winning. Much like Pettigrew did when he defected from the Order. I do think though, with Lucius, that since he had already been imprisoned for the Ministry fiasco that he should have been put back there after Voldemort freed him. He had no reason to be granted a pardon since he didn't do anything to redeem himself. So, back in ya go as far as I'm concerned. Narcissa was just kind of...there. I don't know about her so much.

I'm glad you like brassy chicks. I think they're the best ones for our dear Potions master. Vivienne's encounter with Draco is still coming eventually. No spoilers though, we know she has to come across him at some point, but what will happen... Fanfics are great so far. Most anything else I've written was in college, either creative writing classes, our campus newspapers, some poetry, things like that.
Re: Trickie
I love that Bella lost out, simply because I could totally see her pulling something like that. She's a vengeful little tramp who seems a little more devoted to her master than her husband, but I agree. They both ick me out and Vivienne will be much better off without them.
And given the Amortentia, she's definitely got some splainin' to do. We'll just have to see how he feels and/or how he handles it.
"This was even hotter than the first one. I will have to make sure my husband takes his Viagra tonight so I can find my own release after reading that. " lol Now that is exactly the kind of reaction that warms my heart. At least I know it's effective. :)

That was a lovely bit of smut there. How marvelous that everything backfired for Bellatrix, Vivienne and Snape are so very sexually compatilble and seem well matched in many other ways. Some day soon when they get past the sex they will find that they have lots subjects they can talk about with each other, that it's not all just the curse and the sex. I'm waiting until he comes in contact with the Amortentia potion to find out what he smells. I'll lay odds that it's a sure thing.

It would appear that those of the wizarding world have far more stamina than in this one or perhaps I have not come across someone with such magical er properties, hmmm.... LOL But how dare he tease her again when she was so desperate to get out of there and prepare to take over from Tonks. Loved the move when she spun him on to his back. :) I don't know how she will react the Draco although I have a strong feeling he will be quite attracted to her. Looking forward to seeing where that goes. :)
Indeed I like strong women, the cliche of the helpless female who runs, falls and twists her ankle etc. really gets on my nerves although some women pull off the helpless female act with great aplomb and it sits naturally with them. I think I am somewhere inbetween however. LOL Glad to know you enjoyed your previous writing experiences too. I have not attempted poetry for a while. Too busy reading fan fics and dealing with real life these days. :)

"Good to know I'm not the only person who answers reviewers in the review section. :)"
Yeah, I'm new to the site--and fanfics, really--but it seems not many actually do discuss the stories on the forums so here seems to be the best place to reply. At least I know the readers will get them.
I like the bent of this curse mainly because the victim winds up not so much a slave to their desires, but living in fear of them. Most stories that deal with a curse of this nature simply wind up having the victim rut almost incessantly to the point that it seems more like a farce. In them, the curse tends to control *who* they desire, and I figure why have a curse that does that when the Imperius is just as effective. In this case, she can exercise her will but could die if she tries to, and who she wants is entirely up to her. That's important. There are some subtle differences here that should make a world of difference. If that doesn't make sense now, hopefully it will.
And you will find out why Bella curses witches too...that's coming up in the next chapter.

Gah!! But of coure Bellatrix would be bi and want Vivienne for herself. How did I miss that??? LOL Explained my wonderings very well, thank you very much. :) Oooo and wasn't she mad when she found out Snape wasn't going to share? LOL Now that Vivienne's been transferred to Hogwarts, I wonder if any student deatheaters in training are likely to influence this curse or perhaps it's only fully fledged deatheaters that the curse works on - I did get the impression that she is still quite young even if she is well out of her teenage years. Myself, I've just come back from a big break but I've always liked it here so I hope you do too. :) Thanks for explaining a little about the curse and now - I'm ready for the next chapter. LOL :)

Tsk, poor Bella, it did backfire. I'm glad that helped though. There are some finer points of this that will come to the fore--given that, it will be interesting to see how she handles Draco. At the least it will be illuminating how well she does in the vicinity of a new Death Eater who just so happens to be a typical teenage boy. As for her age, I would place her in her late 20s. She is well out of her teenage years and enough into her prime that she has become a successful enough Auror to warrant being enlisted to help out the British Ministry in their fight against Voldemort.

Oh my!!! (waves hand in front of her face). I believe Vivienne isn't the only one who needs taking care of now!! LOL It's good to see though, that she doesn't take him at his word and tried to find out for herself how well the curse worked. I like a woman with a mind of her own. :) Poor Bellatrix really did stuff things up for herself, didn't she? LOL And I love your hint that perhaps Draco may become involved. Oh those naughty Slythern boys! I definitely love the direction in which your story is going. ;) Of course, you don't have to answer my musings though, I don't want to spoil anything in the story for anyone, I'm just thinking out loud. Thanks for the welcome back. :) I'm glad you're enjoying writing fanfics. What else do you/ have you written?

Mon Dieu! Oh the irony of it all, Bella curses her to fullfill her own perverse and dark desires and Snape reaps the benefit of it all. Poor, poor Bella and Rodolphus, no menage a'tois for them. heck I'd much rather read Snape smut, Beela and Rodolphus do nothing for me.
Judging by what she smelled when she came across the Amortentia potion she's already on her way to being in love with Severus Snape. That last chapter was quite hot, so I'm looking forward to lots more smut to come.
