(Chapters 5 & 6)
Thanks so much for this excellently written story and your Author's Notes. I really like it when writers include Author's Notes, it rounds out the story and gives and insight into the author and why she/he wrote what she/he did, and the mode of thinking when it was written. I just find them interesting. I would very much like to see you write a sequel, or if possilbe two. Although this story started with Lucius' treatment of Draco, it was really a story of Abraxas and Lucius. I would like to see you write a story which delves more deeply into the story of Lucius and Draco, and then possibly, Draco and Scorpius. Maybe even a story about Severus' life, or possibly one going deeper into the friendship between Lucius and Severus. I've become such a fan of your clean and beautiful writing style that I would read anything you wrote. It's so refreshing to read a story written by an author who puts so much thought and care into a story. Bravo to you for writing this and for sharing it with us.

(Chapter 4)
This story gets better and better with each new chapter, and with each new chapter I grow more impressed.
Everything about this chapter, from Abraxas' gutting words to Lucius about the insignificance of his family compared to the family name , as well as Abraxas' doubts over Lucius' inability and unwillingness to kill to protect that name, to the explaination of the Squilch, how Abraxas contracted Dragon Pox, his death, and Lucius' reaction to it, was brilliant.
The way you weave your story, the hidden life of the Malfoys, in with the canon story is flawless, and makes me feel as if I were reading JKR's own words. That's how seamless this story is. Utterly believable.
I'm eagerly looking forward to the next update.

Excellent Chapter! And thank you for your email informing me of it! Nasty illness, this dragon pox.
I like your writing style, your spelling and grammar are excellent, and a pleasure to read.

(Chapter 3)
Few stories make me actually feel sorry for Lucius, but yours certainly is. The part where you described him waiting in his fathers study for his punishments, with both relief and fear, was excellent. With those few lines, you made me feel what Lucius must have--the trepidation of waiting, the fear of the punishment, the relief that it would soon be over with. And again when you described Lucius' mixed feelings about going home, both wanting and not wanting to, the Manor being a place to both love and hate for the people who are there. Poor Narcissa, trapped while Lucius is at work, with a man she fears. Poor Lucius, wanting to comfort his wife in her distress and not being able to, living an adult life outside the Manor, but still under Abraxas' thumb and made to feel like a child at home. I love the insights into the lives inside the enigma that is the Malfoys. Excellent writing. Looking forward to the next chapter.

(Chapter 2)
I loved this chapter as much as the first. I especially liked the part where Severus and Lucius met. That was beautifully written, and the thought that Lucius had been kind to Severus, rather than cruel, calculating, and abusive as this meeting is usually portrayed in fanfiction, struck me as poignant and touching.
Your writing is clear and concise and has a smooth and effortless flow to it, as well as being evocative and full of feeling. You're doing an excellent job and this story is fast becoming one of my favourites.

Chapter One - Jilliane suggested I look at this story, and I'm pleased I did. It's really well written - something which is by no means always the case! - and describes beautifully Lucius' inner struggle to not become his father, and yet to follow the family traditions. I read this whole chapter with a vague feeling of uneasiness - bravo!
Oh, and don't be disheartened that more people have read your story and not reviewed - I've hit the page three times cos I had an idiot attack whilst reviewing! SP
