I guess the two Hermiones have more in common than was originally thought...they both don't mind going against The Powers That Be in order to serve a greater purpose. I found it amusing that AU-Snape manipulated her without it being overt, sort of nudging her in the right direction.

I wonder how the dissention in the AU ranks will affect the plotting going on in real-Hermione's world. It will be interesting to see where you will take us from here.

Excellent--I love the way you've had both Snapes summarize the situations they've been dealt. This Snape is a crusader; the other is just smarting from a more personal rejection. But they both have strong basis for unhappiness and you've done a terrific job of making each Hermione in the position to help and balance them.

I loved this chapter and I hope that the alternate Hermione's rebellion is successful.

Muffy: It's not that Slytherin Hermione was more affected, but she had more to deal with than our Hermione on her return. She didn't get any breathing space, any time to process. She had a sexual experience where she was literally used by Snape, then returns to her world to be "used" by her teachers, although they were simply going about business as usual. She felt this way because they all descended on her at once and pressured her. She'd never gone through anything like that. And it's compounding because they are treating her badly on top of it. So she's under a lot of pressure and on unfamiliar ground. The pedestal has fallen and broken into little pieces and now she has to deal with realities she never experienced before.

Oh, God, poor Hermione in so many ways...

Alum, huh? Brings back memories of Sylvester and Tweety Bird. LOL. Poor Hermione. But hey, she asked for it. You weren't gone that long considering that you have a new Granddaughter to spoil. I can imagine if it was you having a baby... Sittin' in the stirrups with one of those tables used for eating in bed, typing in between contractions. That's how dedicated you are. The 8th was a busy day, I guess. One of my brother's friends also had a baby girl and someone else I know got married.

Oh, good, another "interesting" discussion coming up! Will they go farther than talk?
