Seraphiccandy: Hi. I think he wasn't sneakier because he already had her obligated through the life debt. The ritual was important, and possibly if he had approached it the way you suggested, he might have lost something precious. Snape can be underhanded, but it has to serve an overall purpose. He could have mistreated Hermione, but chose not to do that. He thought her an exemplary witch, and although he played her dirty, he did have some modicum of respect, at least as much as was possible considering his plans.

Oh, I hope he catches her before she gets out of the bank! And please tell me that Rita will shapeshift and get stepped on in the crush of newshounds?

Excellent. I look forward to the next chapter. I hope that Severus can find Odessa before she gets too far away. I am glad that Rita Skeeter is now in trouble for not registering as an animagus.

I loved Albus' Freudian slip about hexing off her robes.

I don't suppose there is any way we can bribe the editor of the Prophet to assign Skeeter to have to do an in-depth, day-in-the-life story about the ladies of Knockturn Alley? One where the research demands she actually participate in their employment? A couple of weeks as an over-the-hill and VERY ugly prostitute might do her some good. If nothing else it would destroy her credibility.

Another two great chapters. I really liked what Hermione and Eileen did on New Year; I'd never have thought of that! Severus, I feel, is becoming a little soft in his old age! And George's firework! He even had me fooled for a second! Keep up the excellent work!
