I've said (sorry: written) that already, but I'm going to do that again and again: YOU'RE THE BEST
The way you write, I don't even care if situations and characters that you put in your stories match the canon. It's a dangerous and addictive time eater And as much as I miss Severus-Hermione interactions, I'm thrilled to read more about the kids.
All the best,
Belle

Wonderful as always, Ms Figg. I've just got a quick question. Towards the end of the story, you refer to Alsop being James' "cousin" but then later say that James 'scolwed at his brother'. Alsop is James' brother, right? Just getting things straight in my head. Keep up your fantastic work and I look forward to your next update!

Anathema: THANK you so much for pointing out that glaring error. James and Alsop are brothers, not cousins. He's an extra Potter I slipped in for the sake of the story. I can't believe I missed something so huge! I've corrected it in every chapter I posted. Thanks for the sharp eyes. :))

"Gods, this was so complicated."
So true... but?
Rose is that bad? I liked this chapter but, for me, it seems that all child characters loose what i ll call "greyness", Rose is like a black sheep, Eileen and Hugo the whites' one.
Bye and nice update rate :)

Vertpin: lol. Now Rose is the black, Eileen is the white :) Everyone is shades of gray, depending on perspective and the way we are perceiving the characters. Sympathy is flying back and forth in this story like gangbusters. But, I do want to say this in defense of the Gryffindors. They banded together to find Hugo. It was unfair odds to Eileen when they caught her, but everyone was furious. I don't believe it is habit that they do this, it was just the situation and a bit of rabblerousing on Rose's cousins' part.

MND: You think Eileen is perfect? I had three reviews stating she's a psychopath. And there hasn't yet been enough about Rose to show all her shades yet. I think the black/white thing with this story is the best way to show the conflict, with the gray slowly bleeding through as everyone comes together. Everyone is seeing things the way they want to see it, even Hugo. Suppose he had been wrong about Eileen? His sister Rose loves him, she'd just-- a stupid big sister most of the time. But if Eileen had indeed had ill intent, she would have been there for him with bells on. And Eileen didn't HAVE to snatch Hugo the way she did, pissing Rose off, which really was her intention. So, she's no angel either. Rose didn't intend for everyone to go after Eileen and she did try to stop them in the common room. Still, she didn't try to help her when she was surrounded. She believes it's because she is jealous, but she probably didn't want to take a Slytherin's side in front of her housemates either. The shades of gray are there. Rose is just acting like a spoiled thirteen-year old. Eileen, although she wants to get to know Hugo, is purposely giving Rose a hard time in her own way. She knew Rose wouldn't like her flying with Hugo. She could have arranged something less-- glaring for an initial meeting. Like lunch or something, but no. She went for the big guns, zipping him all over Hogwarts, then not listening to Rose and running off with him. So, they're both acting out here. Eileen is no goodie-goodie, believe me and far from perfect.

I neveer said (I`m pretty sure of that) that eileen was or is perfect.. I said that you made her perfect in everything SHE DOES... perfect spells, perfect duelist, perfect in flying brooms, perfect in potions )XD XD... I can`t say I woulnd`t thought that XD) That doesn`t make her real.. (for me please.. is my opinion) specially since she is only 16. Everybody else has a flaw... and in real life nobody (that I know at least) is perfect in everything. Or in the book if you want to. Hermione as smart as she is is flies only when is "you fly or you die XD" and Harry beat her in DADA. Until now I can`t find any flaw in eileen in an academic sense (sorry if you put some, sometimes I jump parts cause I`m suposed to me working)
And the black and white thing... I guess that it have to do with your options (and since you are the author it`s your right) You choose to show us the worst of rose...in the worst way, but the bad things about eileen you don`t give them the seriouness they deserve. I mean, she always get`s what she wants. She was horrible to Rose, but you only made rose to see it, but Hugo didn`t. What Rose did, wasn`t good either, but you made not only eileen, but Hugo think it was bad. So if we put things in a cold balance, Rose who actually feels remorse for what she did (and she did try to stop the boys) seems worst that what eileen did (and let`s not forget that she did want to make rose feel bad)
Pft.. Im getting boring
Bye

MND:Well, you have to remember, Eileen was magically conceived to be "the best". We know she's good at spells because she's been using them on people in Knockturn Alley for years and they'd be a test for anyone, she gets good marks because she likes to read, like her mum, it's a given she's probably good at potions because of her father, and a good flyer. People who spend a lot of time with themselves usually spend a lot of time perfecting their hobbies. I haven't had her duel anyone yet, but I would think because of the advanced spells taught her by her father, she could outduel most students and give adults a run for their galleons, again because of the type of people she grew up around. I'm sure she was bumped around the Forbidden Forest a few times before she was able to navigate it. Having a custom Firebolt has made her faster. I have no doubt Rose is an excellent flyer as well. James and Albus were able to flank her, so that shows others have equal skills.
I'm sure she hates divination, lol, and probably avoids doing anything she's not good at. Remember Ron telling Hermione she didn't like Divination because she wasn't good at it, and Hermione quitting the class? Yep, entirely possible her daughter shares similiar traits. Eileen's flaws are currently in her character. She's not adverse to causing people pain, she overeacts in certain situations, she can be extremely mean-spirited and she's a daddy's girl, though she probably wouldn't agree with that summation. And yes, she's been terribly spoiled and thinks she has all the answers, like most teenagers. I haven't had a chance to explore all the nuances of Eileen Snape. They have to unfold with the story.
