I find myself rather liking the Interlude, when I thought I'd be frustrated beyond belief hoping that it would end so I could maybe see Harry and Snape together. This chapter in particular gave me the kind of insight I had hoped to gain from the Harry Potter books. Instead of just focusing on four or so main characters and their children or something, we see Snape's interactions with everyone and a taste of how everyone is doing. Although I wish I knew what was happening between Luna and Neville. Except for Harry of course. I do wonder why Albus had that reaction, but... I'm quite glad that Snape is getting recognition he deserves, and I enjoyed the daughter/father banter with Severus's ratings on his pain. As for Harry's relationship with Ginny, I'm halved. I don't think they should be together, not only because I want to see Harry/Snape, but also because he is rather treating her as second place. I wonder if she knows. However on the other side, they do have a son, and if his reaction is any indication, I think it is rather sad that he would have to go through a time without both parents. Looking forward to more, as always.

At first I was surpised and almost disappointed to see the grim storyline turn into happily ever after, but I can feel in your excellent writing skills that it's not so. Love your writings and lover to read more.

Dreams of Harry, he means? Yes well, as darkHarry said, Snape is always more unnervered by kindness rather than pain. Although this deterioration of mind he is going through now doesn't help matters, as one of the last things he was able to take pride in as a human being was his mind, and also the ability to duel. With a book called the Void, and a chapter called descent, I suspect we once again will not be seeing any degree of the bright lights we saw at King's Cross not to long ago. Unless of course Snape dies. Which would, you know, suck. I'm digressing. Anyways, I look forward to more. Was that potion meant to help his health? Or is it inconsequential to know?

How very special that Dumbledore's plan worked out so well :(. And wasn't it convenient for Snape and Harry to be so full of love and peace that the old Headmaster was let off so easy. Of _course_ Snape felt protected by the slave bond to Albus while he was still alive--though oddly enough, he didn't feel that way in the real world, and in actuality suffered immensely from it, from both Dumbledore and Harry. Once again, Albus is off the hook and feeling fine, oh yeah.
But any tale is good enough as long as Dumbledore still gets worshipped, isn't it?

I hope this isn't going to turn into another "Snape is really kinky and into bondage" story. You've written him, and the story, so well so far, it would be such a shame to warp his character just to make a bit of cheap porn.

Whamm! What a start! Severus is screwed, even more than he likes to admit. How hard could it be to heal his scars and help the soul get over the torture experience. But no, drugging himself to the point he is worse of than a sixth-year-Hermione... She is right, he needs help. But he will hardly admit it, unless he lets Harry come him near and try to make amends. They need each other to get over the terror of the old terrors...

I liked the Interlude, the way you cover the changes in Snape's life and situation, and the growing easy relationship between Snape and Hermione. This last chapter was well done. I liked the description of Snape allowing his surroundings at home to reflect the way he feels. I'm curious to know where you're going with Snape's dreams. On the one hand, I can't help but wonder if you'll go in the direction of some of your other fics. On the other hand, I think this is by far your best written HP story, and I think you've worked pretty hard to be believable and keep the characters convincing, so I'm interested to see exactly what you'll have Snape dreaming, his reactions, etc. After all, vomiting into the sink at the memory of the night at Godrics Hollow doesn't seem to fit, on the surface, with having dreams about that night that aren't nightmares.
