Hey there! I had to catch up after not reading for a while. My, book one was certainly very impressive. I can imagine how proud and accomplished you must feel after having created something so well-written, entertaining, and elaborately plotted out. I applaud you for providing us with such fantastic fan-fiction. As for book two, I can't wait to see where this is going. You've helped me develop a deep liking for Hermione as well as a stronger appreciation for Ron. Hugo is wonderful, as usual, and Neville is one of my favorite characters in your universe. I'm absolutely dying to see what's become of Harry. I have this feeling he let Ginny go in favor of pining away for Severus Snape. I do so hope this story has a happy ending; Snape has always endured nothing but suffering and self-sacrifice and it's high time he was granted absolution in its fullest form. As usual, you keep me on the edge of my seat and always craving more. Looking forward to chapter 39!

The really sad part is this is best that Severus has ever felt--enduring the empty void, without active torture or manipulation--thanks to Albus, for helping to make his earlier life at Hogwarts hell, to Voldemort, to Albus again, and then to Harry, because of Albus. It's somewhat better than being left to rot in the Shrieking Shack, because it could change, but so far it seems that Snape is simply caught in the same trap he's been in all his life. And he's right--Harry's never been one to worry about rules before, why should he now? Harry's been taught that everything a Gryffindor does is right, after all. Maybe now he has qualms--but why should Snape believe in them? It was his own actions, and Harry's at the last, that finished the previous torture sessions, not anything the others did. Yes, Hermione offered him a quantum of solace and rest, but that can't last life long. How can he believe anyone really loves him?

Every time I read the next chapter, I get chills about the way you wrote a particular passage or how you articulated Severus' emotions. It's really amazing that you are able to do this level of writing every time.
Amazing.
Amazing.

There isn't any easy solution. He thinks if he suffers in silence he can spare Harry, yet if Harry ever finds out that's happening - especially if Snape dies - he'll be crippled by guilt. And he doesn't think that Harry may have similarly emotionally-contorted reasons for not seeking *him* out, because he doesn't expect people to consider his feelings to that extent.
Very nice bit of business with him feeling honour-bound to try to shrug Hermione off, whilst hoping she won't let him. Hermione too is young enough to be his daughter, and a former student, but he lets her comfort him because she acts so much older than she is.
W.re. Neville btw, he will feel especially bad about having had to watch Snape be tortured, because of what happened to his parents.
I think "whereas two nights of the week, he took the Dreamless Sleep" should have been "whereby...".

Although it is understandable, I'm rather sad that Neville holds so much hatred for Harry. I read the chapter of what happened to Snape and was totally thrown off my axle, so I can only imagine what it must have been like to see what he saw. I can understand the hatred for Dumbledore, as I myself when reading the books was completely irate when I read what Dumbledore said to Snape when Snape came begging. Still quite curious about what happened with Luna. Perhaps she did something she can't forgive herself for, or perhaps she can't agree with the hatred Nevill feels for Harry... Looking forward to more of course.

I love your Neville and really REALLY hate Dumbledore in this story! I'm glad someone (like Neville) thinks too that what Dumbledore did to Snape was disgusting, mersiless and unhuman. Thanks for this chapter!
