Oh my, I love how you wrote this chapter out. it really touched my heart when Harry said that he hasnt forgotten about Severus but hoped that Severus has forgotten him. The last part too, it really made me go oh. What will Severus say to him after that decleration about not missing Ginny caused he missed Severus so much more

This chapter is really poignant Emily. You had me tearing up, literally. I loved how mature, wise, and grounded Harry seems after all he's been through. His honesty and depth of feeling for Severus is so overwhelming, I'm not sure how Sev didn't just melt right there, especially when he touched him like that. I LOVED the way you put them in the backdrop of the colony and how Severus was totally caught off guard...I have a feeling that will happen again and again as their relationship changes. I'm so glad 'the Ginny' is out of the way and they can maybe now get to the business of getting closer in whatever way they can after all they've been through : )

Lovely bit of business with the hippogriff - if anyone deserves to be bowed to by a hippogriff, it's Snape.
Can't agree with the characterization of Ginny, though - canon Ginny is a hard-boiled little piece who would probably welcome a monster under the bed as something to practise her hexes on. She was the one who thought it was a shame Harry didn't kill Draco with Sectumsempra, iirc.
Ferrets aren't rodents, btw - they're mustelids.

Wow. You would think that Severus would be missing Harry more than Harry missing Severus... or could be that Severus is stubborn as hell (which he is) and that Harry feels so much for others (which he does).
Great chapter!
