It's interesting how much differently Harry reacts to the slave bond without Voldemort's Dust than Dumbledore did on his end--makes you wonder if Albus _could_ love _anyone_ if he could treat Snape the way he did without the excuse of Moldy Oldy on the brain. Snape is also clearly much happier than he ever was under the Headmaster's thumb, though he obviously doubts it's going to last very long--in his experience, kindness is fleeting, while numbness is the best one can hope for during the rest of it. Good chapter!

I liked this chapter:-), it totally fits, I don't think it's too early that Severus stays close to Harry and wants to be touched. I think you described it perfectly.

Very good, and very, very difficult - giving him the affection he needs without undermining his dignity and making him feel pathetic will require an emotional and social finesse Harry probably doesn't have, although asking him to stay because Harry needs him is a good start.
Good creepy moment with the hair-braiding thing. As a wizard, he's used to the idea that people may be compelled to act against their natures by Imperius so he probably finds it easier to think and really beleive "It wasn't really him that hurt me" than a Muggle would find it. At the same time, he may know intellectually that it wasn't Harry who abused him, but it was still Harry's body and the event is in Harry's memory as well as his, so he's still going to associate having his hair handled by these hands with forced submission and being suddenly struck.
And he wants, really, to be stroked like a cat and be able to relax and enjoy it like a cat, but because Tom-in-Harry stroked him as well as struck him, the very thing that should relax him has become associated with shame and danger, and makes him tense up.

There you go again, adding something sensual to the story. The way Harry took care of Severus before he panicked was just sexy in it's own right. I love the fact that Severus now confessed what he was afraid of, what he feels with Harry. With that I think their relationship will be better. Harry's words about raising those species for Severus alone was such a sweet gesture

This is pretty tricky. Now that Severus has announced his fear, it seems like no matter what Harry does (not sure if he realizes it) things don't seem to have climbed up from rock bottom yet. If he gives in to his want to make Severus happy, Severus will always have glimpses of bitterness at his easy handing out of whatever Harry asks. If he leaves him alone, well Severus will just end up continue a hollow life. Obviously a connection would be the lesser of two evils, but ... I dunno. I'm interested in this twist you speak of, as I can't see where it might enter it. A end to the contract perhaps? In any case, I enjoyed the banter in the beginning about Harry's looks, and still am glad that Severus is sharing, although I'm sad to read that he believes and very well may be forced to tell Harry due to the bond.

ohh... They're not going into it that easily aren't they?....Severus suddenly needs of affection is just that, isn't? Does he really believe Harry LOVES him?Because I'd like to read A LOT MORE of backing off on his side towards Harry...
As always SUPERB job...PLEASE,PLEASE go on...
