Oh my gosh what an awesomely fast update. Of course I loved this, and am equal parts shocked by the turn of events and thrilled how close Harry and Sev have become.

God this story is still as great (if not better) then when it first began. Kusho, and keep it up.

If Al has green eyes he pretty-much has to be Harry's son: true green eyes are vanishingly rare in Britain (I've only consciously seen them once or twice in 49 years) so the odds of Tom carrying a gene for green eyes, as well as Harry, are very low.
I suppose if the Dust in Al is growing with him, reacting like child-Tom rather than adult-Tom, then with a proper upbringing he might just grow up to be a bit ruthless and lacking in empathy, rather than outright murderous - something like Sirius. But he's always going to be a problem if the Dust enables him to bend people to his will, and since the Dust is obviously heritable (which suggests it got into Harry's DNA code), if they can't get it out of Al they'll have to render him sterile so he can't pass it on.
I'm guessing "helpful to current situation" is a minor Britpick btw - we say "helping the current situation" or "helpful in the current situation". Also we just say New Year, not New Year's.

Forgot to say, I think it's good for their relationship, and for Snape's self-confidence, that Snape is getting to be the one doing the comforting and caring for Harry here. It takes them as far away as possible from where they were when Harry was infected by the Dust, reaffirming that that creature wasn't really Harry, and reassuring Snape that the fact that he may sometimes choose to be submissive or passive because that's the mood they're in at the time, doesn't mean he's stuck like that forever. He can still be the commanding one if that's what the situation requires.

Wow I never though that Al would have the Dust and I thought everything would be fine for Severus and Harry.

So, so good! I don't ever want this fic to end! Absolutely love the story. Just one more thing would make it perfect - Snarry smex!

Good grief. Your comment about whether Al could be Tom's son instead... It wouldn't matter who is his soul's father really, would it? I can't imagine Ginny's too careful parenting is helping Al's experience any, but I don't understand what you meant by whether Al is Tom's son or Harry's son. Assumming the dust is a factor, well I just find everyones reactions highly ironic. First off, there is the custody thing, where before it wouldn't be borne that Harry would watch Al, but now that Al is probably being affected by the dust, Harry's all good to go. Sure he and Severus are on a good rappot, but I find that this suggestion that Harry take care of Al to be a little unfair in regards to Harry's own previous reluctance and everyone else's. As for Neville's reaction... Goodness. I can't blame him, but the way he explains it, that he kept quiet for the sake of Ginny, just as Hermione and Ron did for Harry... so very ironical. Ron doesn't have a place to attack Neville (except in regards to his son), but Neville certainly is acting in an interesting fashion. I suppose we've never seen him hold a "trust" position and he's always been (since the beginning books) the one who got in the way (in those days, to stop the trio from fighting Voldemort [can't remeber if it was for the stone or the chamber]). I look forward to the next chapter. Nice job building up all this tension.

I've been enjoying this fic quite a bit; the motivations and behaviors are well thought out and characterized!

Holy Crap. I didn't even think of the dust. Don't know why. It's been such awhile I suppose since book 1. My breath stopped when Albus spoke Parseltongue. If it wasn't for the fact that you took that ability away from Harry (although he relearned it), I wouldn't have thought much of it I suppose. But for the dust to possible recognize Severus again... Crap Crap. Especially since Albus never met Severus before excepting that party. And I'm guessing Ginny isn't showing Albus Snape's picture and conditioning him that Snape is bad. -_- I'm assuming you won't be cruel enough to kill Albus or anything, but I wonder if I can assume Ginny is under the effects of the dust? I look forward to the next chapter. It'll be really bad of course if Albus hissed "traitor" at Severus. Oh dear.

Hooolly crap, that was unexpected. Here I was thinking that we were going to see the usual stepchid situation and you come up with this twist. Talk about evil-step child! Your planning is impeccable, it never fails to amaze me how you come up with this surprise plot twists that seem to come out of nowhere but really follow the logic of the story and make perfect sense that it should happen just so.
This is a truly frightening situation for all involved because even if one was able to be all touchie-feely about it and decided that all Dusty Al needs is love; how on earth do you put aside your fear and somehow love the possibly evil and possessed child? So we can't love Al because we are afraid that he might turn out evil but then he might become evil because we can't love him. Life just sucks for this people....
