No such thing as emancipation in the UK, and it's not necessary anyway: everywhere in the UK you can marry at 16 (except Northern Ireland, where it's 17) and in Scotland you don't need parental permission to do so.

Okay, I know I came to the party a couple (*cough* 6+ *cough*) years late, but I just read this awesome story and I had to say something about it. Seriously, I LOVED this story! You have a true talent. I've started a few HP Snarry stories myself (none that I will post publically right know; I don't have that much confidence), but your story was beyond what I have even dreamed. Twists and turns, secrets and surprises - I could not predict the ending and on of the things I pride myself on is my ability to solve mysteries. I felt like Hermione in regards to the potion. Was it real? Was it a fake? Real. Fake. Real. Fake. I went back and forth and I did not see the Horcrux thing coming either. Now i'm going to go read some (probably all) of your other stories!

I normally love your stories, but I'm finding this one a bit irritating, both because of the fanon idea that Snape gives out lots of detentions (prior to the Sectumsempra incident at the end of HBP, we see him give out just seven detentions in six years, only two of them to Harry, while McGonagall gives out twenty-two, seven of them to Harry) and because of the cultural anomalies. There's no such thing as legal emancipation in Britain and in any case it wouldn't be an issue, as Harry is old enough to marry at sixteen, and in Scotland he doesn't even need parental consent to do so. It's not legal for a teacher to have sex with a student under eighteen unless they are married to them, but Harry leaving school would solve that, yes.
