Wow! I took a brief hiatus and when I came back there was this AMAZING story. You tell such a good story. I really liked watching the (brief) interplay between Lily and Hermione--very different world views there. I think they are both very much in character (for all I can tell; it isn't like we get to see ALL that much of either of them, JKR is very Harry-centric, but then they are her books). Lily's sympathy could only ever have gone so far (and that's how we know she really is related to Petunia, the moment things don't go her way--watch out. Also known as the by-product of being a red-head); eventually, she was bound to get tired (or pissed off) and give up, whereas--I think particularly in your story--it seems that Severus and Hermione had a major personality-forming event in common: both had to be adults in their homes. Hermione, being an only child, would probably never have been treated like a kid. Severus, in your story (and thanks, by the way, for making him a gentleman, I quite agree), had to be the adult and mediate between his parents. Someone who was still in the middle of what was probably a fairly indulged childhood could never understand a world like that (I believe you wrote that Lily had never experienced Severus' family, which would tie into this concept). Also, there is nothing like a meddling Dumbledore... I was very concerned for a while (before I got caught up) that this story would end badly--I hope it doesn't, I'm a sucker for happy endings. Sorry for the marathon review, I hope it made you smile!

Thanks for another fast update, I'm still not used to an author updating so quickly. Lol.
This chapter was sad to read. I was happy at thought that maybe Hermione was going to be pregnant, but I understand your reasons for not letting that happen.
I'm also ecstatic to hear you have more stories on the way...especially Hermione and Remus. You haven't done one of that pairing in awhile, looking forward to it.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I am sooo happy Severus finally claimed his witch. Lol. I had a smile on my face after reading that chapter. It was perfect and can't wait to read what you have planned for them.
I see the beginnings of possibly a friendship between Draco and Hermione. That would be cool. It's interesting to see that he was actually concerned for her well-being.
Is Lucius going to make another appearance in this story? Hey, can't blame a girl for asking. ;)
