Why does Severus think Harry came back in the first place? Of course, it is because Harry feels the same way Severus does. They are both afraid to say what they feel for fe?ar of being rejected. Especially Severus. He has been so long denied any thing resembeling a normal life, he is afraid he will be laughed at by Harry. He thinks he is not entitled. Only Harry would be entitled to what he wants, but never Severus.

Brilliant, I just love how you've created the suspense of double meanings within Harry's dialogue(does he/doesn't he?) and Severus' emotional turmoil.

I had delayed reading this story because the summary makes it sound like a little drabble, boy was I wrong. The summary does not do this story justice. Your story is bittersweet and heart wrenching. Severus does not ponder, he reveals to us his barren life and the price he pays for the love of green eyes.
