Ch. 9 Actually, Draco and Harry's attitudes were rather startling. I don't like the idea that being in love means you turn your back on everyone else in your life. The fact that he was willing to turn his back on Ron and walk away from him even with his mother being sick was shocking and made me feel a trifle ill. Draco's response that he wanted Harry to go to England was just as surprising.
Harry made friends in America; in spite of his upbringing, he's actually a very outgoing, gregarious person, making friends easily and quickly. But keeping them is the difficult part and he managed to do so even though he was part of a prophecy and taking part in a major war. Allowing his love for Draco to supersede everything else afterward was rather awful of him.
Your lover isn't supposed to take the place of everyone else in your life--your mother, father, friends, family, etc. That's not what love is. It puts all the burden on them to be the focus of everything and everyone in your life and it isn't healthy.
It reminds me of Homer Simpson declaring that the one thing he could give his wife that no one else could was complete and utter dependence. Marge replied that that wasn't a good thing but her husband disagreed. He couldn't afford to mess up with her because he'd be dead! THAT'S what love should be?!? You have to have it or it kills you? Screw that.
So I'm glad they're going back to England; I'm just sorry it was Draco's decision.

It was totally an awesome update!!! I appreciate it being as fast as humanly possible, as I read and reviewed the other chapters in my morning and its now my night in which I've read the latest chapter, so like less than 12 hours for u to update as far as I'm concerned!!! LOL.
I think it flowed fairly well. I all honesty I thought it was quite good. I think what you're feeling is that it's kinda off, because the situation is kinda off. If you think about it, I think that's exactly how a scene like that with all that background to these people would play out, kinda awkward. If you're with someone that the other person has had trouble with before, but you're both trying to get along, it's just going to be very neutral subjects like sport and practical jokes, and the interaction between the couple IS going to be a little off, lots of downplaying it and joking around (like the bagel scene). To me it was spot on in capturing the off, awkwardness of the situation, and you've done this almost unknowingly/subconsciously, which is why you can't seem to figure out what makes it seem wrong, when in fact the wrongness is good. Does that make any sense? I hope it does.
Before I knew you were American, I really had no thought as to what your nationality would be. I suppose I thought you were Australian too, because I just don't think outside the box too much, and if not Australian, then you were British. But American would have been the third option. I want the black guy to win your presidency election!!! LOL. I have no idea how your system of government works, but I know that George Bush wont be in power for much longer, that there is some other white male candidate, Hilary Clinton, and the Black guy. lol. I want to see an African-American president because that would just be so great and liberating for those people of that nationality especially after all the racial segregation and discrimination of the past. OMG I totally just went into a rant about politics, sorry!!! OHHHH and about my accent, I feel that I don't really have one because I hear it all the time, but I suppose if YOU heard me talk it would be a totally different story. But I can put on a high and low class British accent, and a almost believable Texas, Deep South, American accent. Canadian is pretty much beyond me however. lol.
Ummm, I don't think there is too much else for me to say, other than I loved this to pieces and I can't wait for more. Don't worry I don't think that this story is one of those downhill stories, she really shouldn't have stopped it there, keep going I tells ya!
Would love a quick update, but can understand if it takes some time to get out!

No no no no no. No awkwardness or anything. I thought this chapter was really well thought out and organized. I thought the conversation between Harry and Draco went brilliantly. Harry offering to walk away from Ron without even saying goodbye was JUST the reassurrance Draco needed that Harry was not diminishing his role in his life. Well played.
I can see how the chapter seemed off to you, but I feel it is only because the ocnversation in itself was tense and uncomfortable for the people in between. There was a slight withdrawal from Harry after learning Ron and Hermione were engaged, and his pause over learning about Ginny? WHAT was that????? BUT the scene flowed well. It was just the emotions involved that made it seem slightly surrealistic - which, I imagine, is slightly how our characters felt.
NO you may not stop writing this. I wouldn't want to kill you sometimes if I wasn't so invested in this story! Hmm... that sounds weird. Ah well. I think this story line is progressing beautifully and not that Harry has redeemed himself in my eyes I am quite eager to see them in Europe.
I dreamt about this story last night. *sigh* Yes, yes I did. Dreamt that Harry was up visiting Molly while Draco waited in the living room with the rest of the Weasley clan. Things got tense, but rather than start a fight Draco simply left and flooed to the Manor. Harry came downstairs and was all hurt and angsty and refused the offer of spending the night at the burrow to follow Draco. Basically.... you MUST continue this story or... *ponders* OH! I'll hold a vote and have the other Coven girls attack you! Yep! Buhuhhahahaha....

i completely understand draco and ron finally getting along. they started out doing it for harry and then realized that they both changed. i thought it was great. it flowed extremely well. i enjoyed the chapter. i still think that maybe harry and draco could maybe kiss and make up on the flight.

Ch. 8 I'm sorry that it's taken Mrs. Weasley's illness to bring Ron to see Harry. But he's behaving a lot better in that scene than Draco is. It's too bad about Mrs. Weasley. But this means that Draco will be facing Ron's father and that has the potential for a lot of bad feeling right there. This is going to be one tense reunion.
