I think hagrids gotta believe harry myself, he didnt believe harry was the heir of slytherin in second year so i dont think he'd believe this. I have no idea for names i'll leave that to you, loved the article cant wait for next chapter.

hagrid, i think, should believe hermione and harry. if he sides with ron and ginny, then that would make him one of the bad guys right? and i just cant see hargrid as a bad guy. you could make him neutral on the subject too until he gets to meet harry and hermione at school to judge in person. that would make things interesting and it would leave that little plot detail until later in the story so you can focus on the prophet at the moment. but i'm no scholar or good writer and i live with only this idea...

Hagrid shouldn't be judged mental, he never gave me the impression to be that type. Once he listens to both Harry and Hermione's sides I'm sure he'll understand, he's the type that stands by his friends no matter what!

I think you should give Pansy one of those hilarious Bond_Girl names, like Tilly Masterson, Kissy Suzuki, Miss Goodthighs or Pussy Galore. They always send me into hysterics. lol
