Hm. Lots to think about here.
Lucius isn't appreciative of the Veil bringing out his and Hermione's fears, but if it hadn't I think that could have turned into a bad fight. Very creepy and thought provoking that someone or something related to the Veil was laughing in his head at his resistance. So the Veil is definitely sentient. If it can laugh, can it speak? Or was it not the Veil at all? Confusion!
Loved that Lucius got his epiphany about the squibs while groping Hermione. Classic. :)
I also liked the part about the grains in the time-turners being ground up pieces of the Veil. Smart and inventive, but then, you always are!
There are a lot of variables here. I'm most intrigued by the mysterious 'LOAN' from last chapter. I have a feeling it's going to turn out to be very important. It simultaneously irks and exhilarates me that I can't put all the pieces together yet - which basically means you're doing an excellent job with this tale.

Random thoughts that may or may not be valid: perhaps the loan and the squib ideas are connected. As in, there is a squib that was born into the Malfoy family, which of course would have been secreted away. Perhaps the loan is the family's way of trying to ensure the squib child's comfort? Or perhaps someone is blackmailing them with the knowledge that there was a squib born into the family, and that's where the money is going to? Or maybe I'm just up too late and spouting conspiracy theories. It would be mighty interesting, though, if, in a trickle-down effect through time, the New Wave Master ended up being a shunned distantly-related squib Malfoy.

And I'm done.

I'm glad that they are working through some of the issues in their marriage. They are doing very well, especially considering that used to be enemies and that they don't know each other that long. Great chapter!

ch 26-28 - wow! I was despairing that Hermione would ever stop being so 'prickly' to poor Lucius, and then the Veil brought all their feelings to the surface. well done, Veil! I wonder if Hermione will start being nicer to the brothel employees, perhaps teach them how to read and write. so, Squibs are the 'weak' part of his prophecy, but the 'root'.... would that be the ancestor of the madman Muggle who was killing everyone in their time? here's hoping that Hermione will now go for daylight shags and a more adventurous painting. thanks for the new chapters!!!

Oh no no! I can't believe Hemoine is going to forgive Lucius that easy. He indulged in sexual acts in this case spanking in the bordello and he's getting away with it. And not even that, Hermoine blames it subconciously on herself for being hurt by her former lovers and being ths repressed? That must be a joke. If he truly cared for her than he would have waited and introduced it to her. But like this he cheated on her. Or is spanking not sex? I do think so. I really enjoyed the story so far, but that kind of spoils it to me. I know women in love or sexual need are somewhat blinded and misguided, but I just don't think a woman like Hermoine reacts that way. Is he getting his way, I wonder. Stepping over her feelings and she is happily inviting him to continue? What trash. Seriously, if she lets him get away with it, he will go on in the same manner.
Sorry, if I offended you by my review. It's not meant to be personal. I just get furious when I see men behave like that and get away with that. I hope in the other chappies she will understand that he has to change. and if he does not, that he has to suffer the consequences. Maybe she should leave him for a bit.
Sorry again, for the review, but I wanted to be honest. Cause the rest of the story was really good and I just had really big problems with that scene. Okay, not the scene itself. But with Moine's reaction.
Anyways, LOL, Alex

Aha, eureka, the Squibs! It all begins to fall into place...
And bless their little insecurities - now they know where they stand (and if they falter, perhaps the Veil offers Marriage Guidance).
So will Hermione become an Unspeakable? Will Lucius fall on his knees again (must admit, that was an attractive image in my head; along with his spiffy Regency threads)? And...most importantly of all...when is the spanking scene? Heh.
I'm so glad to have finally caught up with my reading of this...I wish I understood how you seem to be always on form, every chapter, all the time. Tis witchcraft!

I'm so glad they cleared a few things up too. I was quite thrilled with the way you wove in Hermione's memories from the future into what she was viewing in her new timeline. Nicely done. Thanks for the update!
