Very interesting, now we're getting somewhere. Who's sending the threats? Maybe it's The Veil. It's so bored of just standing there in the Department of Mysteries day in and day out, that it decided to spice life up a tad.

Perhaps not, but I've got no other suggestions. Either you've not been giving us enough clues or I'm so dense that I missed them.

Another great chapter Labib.

P.S. Lucius signed my card for a little 'Dirty Dancing' after supper. I wonder who's got him for 'The Hustle'!!!

Hola!
Long time lurker, first time reviewer.

A few things:
I'm enjoying this pairing a lot. I think I'm partial to Hermione as a heroine accompanied by a clever Slytherin- I'm all about Draco/Hermione and Snape/Hermione, but I think I'm now in love with Lucius/Hermione too. But I've always been obsessed with the Malfoys so this isn't completely new.

Great cliffhanger in chapter 31. Unlike some fanfics, I feel like this has a believable story and I really like where it's going. The Squibs play such a small role in the HP series but I think it's interesting to see what kind of role they could have in wizard society as a whole.

Also, you have excellent use of punctuation. You do know how much of a turn-off it is to be reading a steamy lemon then possessives and plurals are confused. It's sooo not sexy.

I don't know if you've seen this before but the ball reminded me of this picture:

Aha, so the Squibs are suffering because of a Malfoy thwarted in love! That is poignant and yet so very likely! Interesting...

You have to love a good Ball - and this is a very good Ball. Waltzes too - how scandalous! A pic of Hermione and Lucius in their finery would have been a wonderful appendix, but scarcely necessary, given the delicious detail you went into.

Country dancing is lots of fun - I'd love to go to a Ball like that (even without Lucius).

Fab chapter; I enjoyed that a lot!

An excellent chapter. I can't wait to read the next one to see what happens.

damn, as if he wasn't scrumptious enough already, the man can dance. yay! I think Lucius will need several dance cards to accommodate all the women who are drooling over him. Although, Hermione had plenty of admirers as well - aah, jealousy, nothing better to help reveal how our couple really feel about each other.

You are so descriptive with the clothes everyone wears, it just makes the story come alive. Some of those dresses - shocking. It makes me laugh cos you know they all think they are so gorgeous and then Hermione and Lucius come in and blow them all out of the water.

now, I wonder who has been spreading rumours about Lucius? I love how Hermione was so quick to defend him.

Hope there are one or two lemons next, I need something to cheer me up after that sad picture of Lucius in prison - he looks so bewildered. I know what he needs - a bit of loving! I'm at the head of the queue of volunteers!

Okay, first, could there be a greater actor than Jason Isaacs? No. That picture of him is my reason for loving him. He doesn't just portray a character's outward emotions. YOu can see that he is on the brink of madness, greif and small-boy bewilderment there. He's not evil, just misunderstood. Thanks for sharing.

Can you actually be doting and high-handed at the same time? Lucius, it appears, can be.

He just doesn't get the Muggle references. Poor man. So, is he Glinda the good witch or the Wicked Witch of the West? Maybe he's the Wizard of Oz.

I love the interaction between Hermione and Lucius at the ball. Hermione certainly seems to be getting into her new role as wanton wife. I like seeing that.

Good, a cold and haughty Lucius is the way I love him. Your description of his servitude to Voldemort and how it must have chaffed, is the way I see it too.

perspicacity. Love that word.

I already like Grogan and his wife. Trust Lucius to make even the most powerful wizard in the room look bad to his own wife

Gotta love a good waltz. It's graceful and intimate. Sigh.

The Great Squib Vendetta is being perpretrated by someone, and they're using Lucius' name in conjunction with it? Interesting.

Okay, no spanking or lemons but a great chapter. I can't wait for more.

I wonder what Madam Armbruster means? Ah, that would explain Lucius's uncles' vindictiveness...unrequited love, sigh.

Okay, first things first: I loved the KILT's lift in that picture. WOOT! I should be tippy-tapping out transcription, but this is so much better, so here goes:

ROFLMAO @ Hermione begging for elastic. I thinnk I resort to ties before I did pantaloons. Tried 'em once, didn't like it all. Don't ask ... just don't ask.

Chandelier? OMG -- I'd love to see that!

There's no place like home, there's no place like home? Poor Lucius must have thought she was completely nutters. Imagine trying to explain the Wizard of Oz to a real wizard. Damn, now there's another stupid plot bunny. As if they don't breed, well, like rabbits, as it is!

A lordly entrance --YUM!

LOVE the Lucius took his dances first -- so territorial and decadently against the grain of the times!

And the mystery deepens -- almost a squib ancestor should have raised Lucius delicious eyebrow an inch or two.

And someone besmirching Lucius' good name. Hmmmm ... wonder who that could be and why? More questions than answers of course. Love the story -- I've said that already, haven't I?

Hm... You seem to know an awful lot about balls. Have you read about it, or do you have personal experience? I am just curious :) But it was fun to read about it! Hehe, I understand Hermione, I wouldn't want do go to some party with dancing and where you always have to hold your tongue. Even if she seemed to enjoy the dancing quite a lot. Ah, well... she do enjoy the bedroom waltz, so perhaps it isn't that strange.
Oh, and that conversation in the end was very interesting... I wonder what Lucius found out. And I wonder whom have been contiued to send the treaths toward Squibs... That will be interesting to find out. It wouldn't surprise me if someone was out to get the Malfoy and make Lucius the scapegoat. Curious, curious...
Lovely chapter! Take care!
