Oh! I thought Lucius knew what the solicitor was up to and was amused at Hermione

She's fierce with a bar of soap is she? In more than the 'washing mouths out sense?' lol! In the recent financial climate there's one method of saving money on your water bill: bathe together! lol!
Oooh, Lucius's Death Eater face! If the solicitor wasn't scared, he should be now!

@Ch44. Oh god - just had a thought, if the solicitor bod's insane and they send him through the veil. What if he gets worse and becomes the Master/Serial Killer blokey in the future??!! that would be creepy, difficult to write I suppose but creepy! Loving it (as always) and can't wait for the next chapter!

Great idea about getting the solicitor to the Veil.
I enjoyed Lucius' speculations on how he could have wooed Hermione in their parallel reality, regardless of Narcissa. I like the neat way Hermione's Polyjuice adventure came into play as well; Lucius didn't hear the half of what Draco got up to, did he?
I had to laugh at Lucius being a 'tool with a manor'. Tool is a bit of an insult here, did you know?
It's very sweet to see them coming together and bonding over their intellectual sleuthing. You are the best thriller writer in all of fanfiction, I think - despite your aversion to the genre! I suppose I don't mean thriller really - I mean sort of Sherlock-Holmesy/Aggie-Christie mystery with smut. Much better.

Chapter 43:
Hah! Try to beat Hermione, little wizard. I was wondering if she had a second wand, given her experiences in the war. It was nice to know that she now has a way to stop the plot. I'm off to the next chapter.
Chatper 44:
I think that chapter was brilliant. Especially when Lucius worried over Hermione's brewing of the polyjuice potion, and not unnecessarily. I love how she omitted the whole cat incident in her retelling of the tale.
I think the Veil isn't through with them yet, and will put the ball firmly in their court again by failing to deal with the problem. The blackmailer may leave the picture, but problem of the prejudice will remain the same.
Thanks for two such thought provoking chapters. I can't wait for more.

My first instinct was for Lucius to kill the bastard. But I can see Hermione's reasonings about not wanting to go there (thank God they are fictional or might have real guilt over condoning murder). The bit about the ministry doing it's own police work made me smile. Letting the Veil decide is brilliant and I won't even try to speculate. I look forward to your next chapter. Thanks for the update!

Well well the mystery is shaping up just nicely. I did have a laugh at the stasis spell pulsing. It made me think of those electric belts you can buy on late night TV that electrocute you instead of exercise. Keep up all the good work. I'm frankly riveted.
