So, that is how the Malfoys got their money. Hmm... sounds like a certain President I know of whose father became wealthy by bootlegging. Great story. I can't wait to read more!

Have to say, I love all your stories, but this one is an interesting twist on Lucius/Hermione. You're really portraying the past well and the idea of the new wave problems sounds very scary.
Only thing I wondered is that from your previous descriptions, I believed the muggles under the influence of the new wave master were like mindless automatons blindly doing the will of their master in destroying magic people. In that case, how could Hermione have heard her parents discussing how to ambush her, as being mindless they wouldn't plan it, just attack? Or am I wrong and they do have intelligence left enough to plan an ambush?
Other than that, can't wait for the next chapters as always :)

You put me to shame. I feel so inadequate after reading this chapter!!! I should just hang up my metaphorical quill...but then my head would probably explode from all the ideas I wasn't exorcising.
Wow, the chemistry was almost burning up the screen of my laptop. Absolute hotness. I may or may not require a cold shower.
I'm glad Lucius was able to stop himself, but Hermione sniffed him out...stormy seas ahead...
And Lucius isn't as morally bankrupt as she thinks; I hope she can see that. Granted, he is still Lucius, but some people *deserve* to be dropped in the middle of the Forbidden Forest.
Just an extraordinary chapter. Keep it up!

Wow, what a chapter! This is a story with a very unique plot that has totally sucked me in.
It seems Lucius is well on his way financially. Though I do believe he will have to work hard to gain Hermione's trust (I hope she confronts him about the Lilac perfume). The silent protest of tears from Hermione was beautifully done. It was a really powerful moment that seemed to hit the characters very hard. I really felt Lucius' shame and regret at his unintentional loss of control.
I like the way you have portrayed Lucius in this fic. His supreme arrogance, magical talent, confidence, and his ability to act in an emergency is well written and believable for someone with his past.
I thank you for always delivering quality chapters that create truly excellent Lucius/Hermione fanfics.
Update soon... you know I check almost every day...

He's sending them to the forbidden forest?? How?? Does Hogwarts, and therefore a magical realm exist in this place?? I thought they were alone as far as magic went?

You're last little message is very true. I see Lucius as a hero yet he's making sure that he is preserving himself while saving others. It's a different Lucius from what we have seen in the books where he is focused more on himself and saving himself. Here he's saving another, but at the same time saving stuff for himself.

Sweet Merlin's left ball, woman!
You took my breath away with that performance!! I was so into it ,that when she started crying ,my hart just sunk, and i guess i felt a little guilty myself! hehe
Lucius is just perfect, he is selfish, conniving , ruthless, arrogant wizard, but so protective of "his witch"! And very handy, to have around when in a moment of danger!! I wouldn't mind being abducted if it meant that HE would come to rescue me!!! hehehe
A brilliant story as always!!

I've been reading this from the beginning and I have to say this is really brilliant. I think you've taken the characters and fleshed them out exceptionally. Lucius is still Lucius but he's likeable, conniving and ruthless but still charming. I also love how Hermione isn't automatically giving in to her burgeoning lust, I've never seen her as the type of person to do something like that but at the same time she's still a woman and the attention of an attractive man can still make her a little fuzzy at times. I'm terribly excited to see how they adapt to the world you've thrown them into!
